Anyone got the skills/ knowledge to write whatever needs writing to make a Nokia ringtone play a Sisters tune?
I noticed people had contributed a few on thewonderstuff.net for some stuffies songs, and thought about the possibility of making some Sisters ones.
Alice, the intro. to First+Last+Always, or even the intro. to Temple of Love (if you really know what you're doing) would be good for starters.
Any other suggestions of suitable riffs? Practical ideas or help would be even better, if anyone knows how to make these ringtone things.

Got bored this evening, so took time out of my oh so busy schedule to sit down with my guitar and write a couple of tones in and re-write that FALAA one. So here we go:
These are for Nokia 3330 :
Sisters - Vision Thing 180bpm
2c1, 8f1, 4g1, 2c1, 8f1, 4g1, 2c1, 8f1, 8g1, 8#a1, 8g1, 2#d1, 2f1
Sisters - Alice 225bpm
4g2, 4b1, 4b1, 4#f2, 4b1, 4b1, 4e2, 4b1, 4d2, 4b1, 4b1, 4#c2, 4b1, 4b1, 4#c2, 4d2, 4g2, 4b1, 4b1, 4#f2, 4b1, 4b1, 4e2, 4b1, 4d2, 4b1, 4b1, 4#c2, 4b1, 4b1, 4#c2, 4d2
Update! Change all the above 4's to 8's and change the bpm to 140. This makes it sound better!
First And Last And Always 225bpm
4e1, 4e1, 4b1, 4g1, 4a1, 4a1, 8#f1, 8e1, 4d1, 4e1, 4e1, 4b1, 4g1, 4a1, 4a1, 8#f1, 8e1, 4d1, 4e1, 4e1, 4b1, 4g1, 4a1, 4a1, 8#f1, 8e1, 4d1, 4d1, 4e1, 8#f1, 8g1, 2e1, 4e2, 4e1, 4e2
I tried Temple Of Love but couldn't decide which was the best bit to try, so I gave up. Gonna sit and write a couple more I think. Will post them later. I'll give Burn a go as well and see if I can make it better than Hals!

Sisters - We Are The Same Suzanne
8#f1, 8#f1, 8#f1, 8#f1, 8#f1, 8#f1, 8#f1, 8#f1, 8a1, 8a1, 8a1, 8a1, 8a1, 8a1, 8a1, 8a1, 8e1, 8e1, 8e1, 8e1, 8e1, 8e1, 8e1, 8e1, 8#g1, 8#g1, 8#g1, 8#g1, 8#g1, 8#g1, 8#g1, 8#g1
I put Suzanne on coz it's easy. It is only the intro though...
I've run out of room on my phone for any more, so can't be arsed to work out any more. Just sit down with a guitar, change the key for the tune so that the lowest note in the song corresponds with the lowest note on the phone (an E), then work out the notes. get them all in the play with the note length. It's actually really easy!
Enjoy kiddies!

This ringtones stuff is a really a good idea, Gripper.
Would anyone mind letting me know how I actually programme the tone into my Nokia phone? Do I need to do it on some web site, or just press some buttons on my mobile?
I imagine this is quite a simple thing to do, but being a lawyer I find most things more technically advanced than a quill pen beyond me.

my current one doesnt allow you to enter them. neither did my last one: an 8210
those two dont let you send them on either., so once they are on your phone thats it. its like a black hole for ringtones
what model do you have?
if you dont have a composer option you will need to get a cable to connect it to a pc and upload it, or get someone that can to send it to you from their phone...

After all of CellThree's fingerwork I'm not gonna bother typing in the version of burn I got from somewhere else, unless some really wants me to

Falaa is my current ringtone, has been for about 2 years. It rocks.
I got Vagabonds by NMA which is also rather groovy.
I'll be stuffing around with CellThree's ringtones later tonight. I don't want to p*ss off the whole office attempting to program in a ringtone.
You're right a about burn, that's why I didn't post it. It's too slow.

There is no need to type in your version of Burn Hal, coz mine is definative!
DAmn, I wish I had more room on my phone , this writing lark is dead easy!.
For those who want to know:
The numbers above represent: 4f1 The "4" is the speed of the note. This ranges from 1 (slowest) to 16 (fastest). The speed is changed on each note using the 8 and 9 keys. The "f" is the actual pitch of the note. The keyboard is from C to B (c=1, d=2, e=3, f=4, g=5, a=6, b=7). The "1" is the octave. There are 3 octaves with 1 being lowest. Use the * key to change the octave. If you need a # note, then press the note you want, say a "g" then press the # key.
Best way is as I said below, sit down with a guitar and work it out first!

Does anyone know if I can compose on my Nokia 6310i?
If not, like Quiff, I'd be grateful if someone wouldn't mind forwarding a tune or two. I can pm my number to you. Oh stuff it, its 07733124312.
I always thought nine while nine would make a good ring tone.

Heh, my ce||phone bill is going to be pretty high this month so I can't really afford to send too much more. I'm sure someone will help you out!
As for Nine While Nine, I'll have a go at that later. Decided I don't like the Alice one I did so I can copy over it! Also I'll do Some Kind Of Stranger as well.

This is my own composed version of "Burn", made on the

Master Margarita, you asked for instuctions-
This is from the handbook to a 3310:
Switch your phone on (!)
From the Tones menu select 'Composer'
Select the tone that you want to edit and key in the notes, as follows:
1 is c
2 isd
3 is e
4 is f
5 is g
6 is a
7 is b
8 shortens and 9 lengthens the duration of the note or rest
0 inserts a rest
* sets the octave
# makes the note sharp (not available for notes e and b)
The one that looks like an upside down capital L moves the cursor to the right- the conventional L moves it to the left
C deletes a note or rest to the left
When the tone is complete, press 'the button with a long horizontal dash' (Options) key and select play, save, tempo, clear screen or exit
You can assign a different ringtone to different individual callers by going through 'Phone Book', then 'Assign tone'. Scroll to the caller's name or phone number, press 'the button with a long horizontal dash' (Assign) and select the desired ringtone. So, 'Vision Thing' for the Optician, 'Burn' for the local arsonist etc.
Hope this works for you.

Nine While Nine is giving me a bit of trouble. It's one of those songs I never sat down to learn how to play. I just listened to it and found it has so many multitracked guitars I'm trying to work out a melody by putting them all together and the bass line as well. Might give this a miss actually!
Right, lost interest in this ringtone malarky now. Time for someone else to have a go!

This one sounds right, but is too short. There wasn't enough room to add anymore in.

Thank you. I finally understood your difficult music writing!CellThree wrote:
As I was able to understand:
c = do
d = re
e = mi
f = fa
g = sol
a = la
b = si
"4f1 The "4" is the speed of the note. This ranges from 1 (slowest) to 16 (fastest)."
I've a Motorola T191, don't know how it works on your phone but I have to introduce the actual symbols. Usually the Sisters work with that note that looks like a " d' " (can't find the bloody symbol!). That's 1/8 and it's called quaver.
Oh, and thanks for explaining how to insert a # note. It's the same on my phone.
Here's my attempt on Anaconda (guitar riff). Maybe you can lend me an ear and put it better?
Octave: your favourite - Motorola only allows two complete octaves and another up to "sol".
Time: "presto" (very fast)
8 = 1/8 = quaver = [ d' ]
4 = 1/4 = crochet = [full d]
5 = crochet followed with a dot (translate that!!!) = [ full d. ] = crochet + quaver
All are 8s unless mentioned exceptions.
dc4d dc4d dcd4c5a *(last "a" is lower octave, obviously)
cdc4d dc4d dc4d
Now in "Latin"
re do re - re do re - re do re do la
do re do re - re do re - re do re
Now I'm working on "Forbbiden Colours" on an old xylophone. No, I can't play guitar. I'm playing Sisters on a xylophone, yes, without # notes. I like it hard!
@Bere
Assim dá mais luta!
