Screaming Banshee Aircrew + Legion (+Flock!) - 5th Nov

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

SCREAMING BANSHEE AIRCREW + LEGION

Doors 7:30pm, first band onstage 8pm, clubnight from 10pm
£4adv which includes entry to Friday Flock!

Screaming Banshee Aircrew are, of course, the undisputed darlings of the Yorkshire goth scene, even though nowadays they've spread their wings much further. Originally a "writhing riot of hair, makeup, leather, PVC and punk-goth cabaret" they've recently expanded their line-up which has lent their sound a rawer, punkier edge, complementing the flamboyant nature of their live shows. Having previously headlined at Woolstock, this will be their first Leeds show since appearing as special guests of the March Violets at their reunion gig last year.

Legion are a recently re-based Leeds gothic rock band, very much in the vein of the Sisters albeit with a great deal more youth and energy on their side! Expect silhouettes and smoke and the spirit of 1984 as Legion hit the stage with drum machine and 12 String guitar!

-|=|-|=|-|=|-|=|-|=|-|=|-

The gig is followed by "Friday Flock", the irreverent Phono night, featuring the same request-friendly DJing you know from both 'Oblivion' at Le Phonographique and the legendary long-running Sunday Club/Black Sheep.

Expect all your favourite goth, industrial, 80s, punk and new wave tunes, not to mention plenty of that bizarre stuff you only ever heard down the Phono!

Flock starts 10pm, only £3 before 11pm!

1984 is over?! Does that make it 1985 already?

With a fresh new band like Legion, it's the perfect time for setting up rituals and traditions that will be done by the crowd at every gig that follows.

How about the removal and firing of Tim's trousers during the last song?

The followers could then call themselves 'The Tailors' or 'The Lighter Fuel Squad'

Seeing as how I'm 50% responsible for that, thank you kindly. :notworthy:

I can't condone the "removal" part, on two counts...
