According to the former drummer of "Die Toten Hosen" (Wölli), the Sham 69-bassman Mat Sargent is working for a project called "Sex & Drugs & HIV" for about six years now. Other musicians collaborating are members of Motörhead, New Model Army, Iron Maiden, Prodigy, Simple Minds, Sisters of Mercy, Thin Lizzy, Napalm Death und Africa Bambata, Whitesnake, Electric Light Orchestra, Slade, UFO.

A CD/DVD should come out this spring.

A live presentation should have happened yesterday, but I have no idea, who was on stage.

Welturaufführung bei "Rock am Turm"

Zum ersten Mal tritt ein Projekt in Erscheinung, an dem seit sechs Jahren Musiker von Weltrang arbeiten: unter anderem von Motörhead, New Model Army, Iron Maiden, Prodigy und Simple Minds. Insgesamt Musiker aus weit über hundert namhaften internationalen Bands. Sie alle werden im Frühjahr 2004 ein einzigartiges Projekt auf CD und DVD veröffentlichen, dessen Einnahmen unter dem Namen "Sex, Drugs and HIV" Institutionen zu Gute kommen, die HIV-Infizierten helfen und AIDS-Aufklärung betreiben.

Die Idee stammt vom Alt-Punk aus der Sex Pistols Ära, Mat Sargent. Der Sham 69-Bassist lebt seit elf Jahren selbst mit der Krankheit. Sein erklärtes Ziel ist es, das öffentliche Bewusstsein für AIDS zu schärfen. Rund 40 Songs aus der eigene Feder werden von ihm veröffentlicht, aufgenommen in Deutschland und England von mehr als 150 Musikern. Mitgewirkt haben Band-Mitglieder von Sisters of Mercy, Thin Lizzy, Napalm Death und Africa Bambata, Whitesnake, Electric Light Orchestra, Slade, UFO und viele, viele andere.

Eine Auswahl dieser internationalen Superstars wird bei Rock am Turm am 27. Dezember 2003, erstmals mit den neuen Songs an die Öffentlichkeit gehen. Organisator und Ex-Tote-Hosen-Drummer Wolfgang "Wölli" Rohde hat sich in mehrstündigen Video-Sessions von der Qualität der Produktion überzeugt und ist begeistert.

Los geht es am "3. Weihnachtstag" um 20 Uhr im Forum Wasserturm, Rheinstraße 10 in Meerbusch-Lank. Vor dem sensationellen Special-Guest spielen fünf aussichtsreiche Newcomer der Region: die Düsseldorfer Fidget und Bellybutton, sowie die Krefelder Dadrox, 4 Backwoods aus Eitorf bei Hennef, sowie No One's Choice aus Bottrop. Karten zum Preis von zehn Euro plus Gebühr gibt's im Vorverkauf unter www.rockamturm.com, direkt bei den Bands, in Meerbuschs Buchhandlungen, im Seidenweberhaus in Krefeld und bei der Konzertkasse Heinersdorff in Düsseldorf.

Anyone gonna do the decent thing and give us a translation? I do note that the Sisters are in with a lot of the more "defunct" groups (Thin Lizzy, Napalm Death und Africa Bambata, Whitesnake, Electric Light Orchestra, Slade, UFO), so maybe it's just gonna be an old track.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Weihnachtstag" at 20 o'clock in the Forum Water Tower, Rhine route 1. Before the sensational Special Guest five promising newcomers of the region play, the Duesseldorfer Fidget and Bellybutton, as well as the Krefelder Dadrox, 4 Backwoods from Eitorf with Hennef, as well as No One's Choice from Bottrop.
