List of "new songs"?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I'm sure this has been done before somewhere but what's the complete list of unreleased tunes? The new album if you will.

And does this selection exist as a coherent whole in a weed somewhere as a pretend new album?

I created a "New Album" from boots, but it was incomplete and the boots in question were crap since they were scraped together from Kazaa. Would be interesting to see a more coherent (and perhaps somewhat mastered?) compilation. Don't suppose we could try and get a consensus on a track order?

1. Top Nite Out
2. Summer
3. Come Together
4. We Are The Same Suzanne
5. Romeo Down
6. Will I Dream?
7. Slept
8. War on Drugs
9. Crash and Burn

That would be my selection.

That's what I was going to be getting it, I though there may be an enterprising person who'd got the best versions together. Running order was another supplementary as well 8)

I really don't know the new stuff at all hence the questions. To be honest I'd more or less decided not to bother until I heard Chairman Box's Will I Dream which has now been earworming me for a couple of days so now I'm interested.

been trying some time now.
but in my opinion there isn't a best version of any song, there's always something wrong with a Boothleg. ( background noise, crappy recording, ... :P )
as for the running order ..., I wouldn't start with Top Nite Out
  • 1. Come Together
    2. Summer
    3. War on Drugs
    4. Slept
    5. Crash and Burn

    6. Romeo Down

    8. We Are The Same Suzanne
    9. Will I Dream?

think I would open with 'we are the same suzanne'.
and how about adding one or two covers that havn't previously been commited to official album/single releases?

could see 'Bei Mir bist du Schon' sitting pretty with the new stuff - or maybe Comfortably Numb, just to help erase the music world's memory of the scissor sisters version!

Nor would I, I think if ever released, it'll become either a B-side or a bonus track...

But not really bothered by the running order for the rest, only that track

Personally I would applaud it very much if I got to see some kind of best versions compilation of the newer tracks, always good to get a good overview...

EDIT: That was 1500 for me :von:

Possible, although despite the frequency of Sisters cover versions the albums haven't featured any.

So, what's this album called then?

as there's no common lyrical theme this time, like floodland had, you'd have to go with the conventionof naming after the 1st track on side A or the 1st track on side B

so christophe's suggestions would mean either "Come Together" or "Romeo Down"

hmmm :?

you certainly couldnt call it "crash and burn" as you'd be leaving yourself way too open to cheap attacks from lazy journos

I thought "We Are The Same", bit of ambiguity.

now that I like! seem to remember it was just about the only thing he said to the crowd at the forum way back whenever.

having said that, 'We are the same' does have very good ring to it.

Or to take inspiration from the offical site, how about 'feline attack unit'?! or 'Made glorious summer' ?

to be honest though, I think if such album was to ever see the light of day, none of us would really care what it was called after such a wait.

I think "Slept" would make quite a good album title, with an obnoxious comment about Rip Von Winkle in the run off groove ;)

How about a line from a cover song? (Like Some girls...)

Can't really think of a good one though

Slept is a good suggestion as well, I must admit :D

anyway, i don't think if Von would ever release a new album he would use these songs.
my guess is he would write a totally new record.
perhaps using these for B sides or something, mabye a Some Girls... Part 2 or something.

"Another Shade of Empty..." or "seven shades of shiva rising" were my first thoughts. 8)
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Crossed my mind as well as I was thinking of "Summer" as the opening song on the cd. So it would be my second choice.
