Re: Neverland(a fragment)

The Face in the Mirror Grey haunted eyes, absent-mindedly glaring From wide, uneven orbits; one brow drooping Somewhat over the eye Because of a missile fragment still inhering, Skin deep, as a foolish record of old-world fighting. Crookedly broken nose – low tackling caused it; Cheeks, furrowed; c...

Von's recruitment has been spot on in the last 18 years. Ben, then Chris C, then Dylan, then Kai: all assets to the band in their own special ways

Re: Sisters 2024?

What were the audience numbers like ? That's a good point - lots of people were saying in advance the tour would be a disaster because some venues were downsized. But with respect, I personally wouldn't count "audience sizes" as a measure of success, as long as those audiences had a great...

Re: Quick question 🤔

The current version of Lucretia being played live has the bass line played loud again after the first chorus, and it sounds pretty close to the OG recording, which also corroborates with my theory that Floodland was recorded without a real bass. (Does that mean Patty never played the bass? Ofc not,...

Re: Quick question 🤔

I'll repeat it over and over again: Von sees himself as the bass player in the band now. He can't play bass and sing, so he lets the Doktor do it. He used to say that if they had a live drummer they'd just do what the Doktor does anyway; so too with a bass player. People are fully entitled to feel t...

Re: Sisters 2024?

Isn't it great, following the disasters of 1 year ago, that the reviews for this tour have been nigh-uniformly positive? Apart from that one guy who was outraged that there weren't live synth and bass players

It probably did suffer a bit from being over-played, and was probably due being rotated out to give other songs a chance, but it feels like it's time to bring it back. On a good night there's a suitable epicness to how it's performed.

Wow, what a blinder of a set-list. Lovely to hear "Crash and Burn" back on, I thought that was one of the pieces that were moved so as not to give money to Pearson

I'm going to start writing slash fiction about Von and Kai and there's nothing you can do to stop me :D

I can't imagine the Sisters playing Chris' "I'll Call You" in a million years. About 12 chords too many.

Re: Vision Thing revisited

"Ribbons" I learned to appreciate just recently. It definitely ripes. I still have a soft spot for "When you don't see me", for I felt it being quite personal way back then. "Ribbons" was the first TSOM song I ever heard, from the next room at a party. I couldn't belie...

How much more political could you get than "Eyes of Caligula"? None. None more politics.

Put me in the corner of those who think "Vision Thing" and "Ribbons" are possibly the two best Sisters songs either, but the rest was made for an audience that's not me

Quantum Baby

A first attempt at the 30 second fragment now on YouTube:

Feed (?fade) into the one

We have the lonely heart of a thousand suns
And one and one is only one (? all they want)
Feed (?fade) into the one

"Set the controls for the heart of the sun", huh?
