It was indeed a reference to the terrible feedback a few seconds earlier. In the mastered version of the recording, that feedback was of course made much less prominent

I think recording a live show as such is a civil offence, I do think it is indeed illegal, in a strict sense (it depends on the artist and the venue - some artists actually give permission to record their shows).
