Sometimes giving songs different names was a deliberate ploy by the bootleggers. Remember booting was/is illegal so it was sometimes done to cover up their actions. Something like this: 1. Reflect 2. Bons 3. A Prayer 4. My Heart 5. Deep 7. Hey Now 8. Love 9. Sight ... was done to a) confuse the pres...

No discussion of the studio logs? Maybe I'm just out of the loop - very possible - but they were new to me. For those who haven't seen them, or don't intend on buying these release, here's how the recordings sessions were logged - at some point during the sessions: Emma Poison Door Scottish One A Po...

The Incredible String Band (ageing hippies) got a 100 fans to donate £65 each. This paid for a short recording session at Peter Gabriel's studio. He talks about it in the current issue of Music Mart. Given that SoM can pre-programme a substantial amount of their material ... Again: desire and effor...

I think it's Julian Cope that says he makes more money out of self-releasing material than he ever did when with a "proper" record company.

Selling 20,000 self-produced discs will earn you more than 100,000 via a record company.

All it takes is effort and desire.

Where I grew up, the working class game is rugby. So if anyone asks "Celtic or Rangers?" I can say - hand on heart - "Neither." The only fitba terrace I stand on is my local team: Carlisle United. And when I eventually move back to Scotland, I'll be supporting my local team - whe...

Does anyone know if the ABC has a curfew/club night afterwards? The Bauhaus show also opened at 7pm but they had no support and we were out by 10.25, meaning we could catch the last bus at 11.00.

Bradford? My bad. Blackburn! Apologies!

So ... does anyone have a list of what DOES circulate with known gen? Although my interest lies 81-85 I may be able to access some latter stuff from low gen. Will have a looksie.

No list and no known gens! I just have my tapes in storage. I was a teenager and didn't even know people kept a note of such things. I'm involved in a couple of the big Nirvana sites. If you take a look at www.nirvanaguide.com you'll see just how successful the community has been in tracking down ma...

Sisters recordings with known generation?

Hiya, First post, etc. I accumulated a number of Sisters boot tapes back in the 80s. Whilst it would be nice to upgrade them to CD, I don't have the time (or energy) to risk trading for items that may - potentially - sound worse than the tapes I already have. So ... has there been any effort to tran...
