I'm correcting myself: "You are NOW about to witness the strength of street knowledge" OMG yes. (have you seen 'The Defiant Ones' doco, recommend.) I actually surfed into it one day. The segment featured Patti Smith as well as Dre. Without context I wasn’t sure what the connection was, ...

There were so many good ways to with this one, including a Joy Division song and a Cult song, but I settled on:

Either PiL in Asbury Park or The Feelies in Jersey City in October. They’re both on the 13th. Haven’t decided yet. Feelies are playing the music of The Velvet Underground, but PiL is at a bowling alley.

My Heartland - Sisters

I almost went with Sins of Ommission by Midnight Oil, but then I thought ithis one was too good an opportunity to pass up.

I didn’t realize parts of words could be used. I’m hoping I’m not misunderstanding any aspects of the game. Any rules I should know about?

Wow. That's dedication. But then I read accounts of people coming in from all corners as it was the only North American show and the first since the early '90s.

Excepting that Stones and Zep are my all time favorites (they alternate as 1 and 2 and right now The Stones have the edge), really every band/artist in what I would say is my top 10 holds a nearly equal place for me, and they are: The Sisters Midnight Oil The Cult/DC/SDC Peter Murphy/Bauhaus The Cur...

Sorry about the confusion! I've corrected it in the original post. (We Are The Same) Suzanne. Love the song. Didn't know it was a parenthetical. Thanks for the clarification.

It's on

My friend is definitely up for it. However, we will be going with our original plan and contributing covers of already released songs. He pointed out that there may be legal problems with covering unreleased material before Andrew himself records it. Even though this is only for Heartlanders, someon...

This would be great. I would love to participate. I did a cover of The Church's "Lady Boy" for a fansite's tribute CD. I heard nothing more about it and I think the project is long defuct. But I'd love to tackle either "Crash and Burn," "We Are The Same, Suzanne" or &qu...

On the other thread about this, many were complaining that the selections only represented the more popular stuff and that some stuff really didn't belong, that some of the selections were not really goth. Assuming there is such a thing, it's worlds ahead of many of the other compilations out there....
