Re: Happy birthday sam1

Ahh…thank you….for some reason, birthdays seem to be a bit more quiet nowadays…lunch in Newcastle was grand but the football parade meant the toon was busy as hell so a fast retreat was in order…sitting in my local pub noo and all is well in the world!!

Re: Being Goth (or not)

Wouldn't that be a... Von diagram? :von: I'll see myself out. :innocent: so if someone wanted to show up dressed head to toe in white, a pink tutu, etc., I wouldn't bat an eyelash. :bat: And that's just the vocalist.. I do remember seeing a lass wearing a wedding dress at the Sisters gig in Glasgow...

Re: 2025-08-15. Kelvingrove Bandstand, Glasgow UK

I lived in Glasgow for 22 years...I think it pished down nearly every summer I lived there.....I remember one day in the middle of July, I was meeting HL legend James Blaast for a couple of afternoon libations (well, more than a couple), and as we sat in the sheltered part of a beer garden in a loca...

I'm probably gonna get crucified for this.....but I just cannot get into Dr Who these days....but.......I watched the new colourized version of "The War Games" with Patrick Troughton as the Doctor, and Jon Pertwee getting introduced as the fourth Doctor on iPlayer and if I'm honest.....I e...

SEEKING OUT THE GUY WHO INSISTED I LOOKED LIKE JG THIRLWELL AND GAVE ME A FREE BOOK AFTER THE SHOW: Thanks for the "Waiting for Another War" book, I read it and found it to be very good. I also did go and listen to some JG Thirlwell music and thoroughly enjoyed it. Now I'm hooked. Both he...

Re: The Worst Gig You've Ever Seen

Having been to 100’s of gigs in my time and having seen 100’s of artists in my time, worst gig award goes to…the bloody Lightning Seeds…..I was off one night and they were playing a headline set at the Garage in Glasgow 1995 (where I lived at the time)…so I went along just as the house lights were c...

Re: What ever present tune in recent ish sets could you happily do without?

Definitely need to drop Jeep/Det and give Ribbons a bloody rest too....I was at the Newcastle gig last year and I was kinda disappointed they are now opening the set with Jeep/Det......its not as if they have a limited back catalogue, and I'm sure they could get something better to replace it.....it...

Re: Doctor Who

I've been watching Dr Who since Tom Baker, (I was watching The Ark In Space only last week).....after watching the new episodes last weekend, I'm even more convinced that the original episodes had so-so acting, terrible effects but brilliant stories.......since 2005, (in my opinion, I hasten to add)...

Pre/Post drinks: That part of town is a bit sh!t owing to its proximity to Times Square. Tentative proposal is Sean's Bar & Kitchen - decent beer/cider selection (anyone ordering Guinness n'Black is put on notice :D ), but open to other suggestions. When I saw The Cure there in 2008 I had pre s...
