Re: RIP Brian James

Yes, Lords Of The New Church - heavily underrated. I had almost forgotten. Must play 'Lord's Prayer' tonight. And 'Holy War'. Sorry, but that's my connection with Brian James, The Damned was (just a little) too early for me.

Re: Rip Off Store Day 2025

I briefly considered "The Lost Tapes" by Wall of Voodoo until I found out that the band is offering them as a download on their own website. So I got it from there, as I was interested in the songs, not the medium.

The Bad Vilbel place looks like a conference centre.. It is. This concert is part of the "Hessentag". As they say on their homepage: "Hessentag is the annual state festival of Hesse. It is considered the oldest and largest state festival in Germany". 226 events on 9 days; theatr...

Although I disagree with you, Mark (imho there is enough material for a 4th Sisters album before the recent explosion of creativity, cf. my compilation in Sharing), I pledged - and look forward to the book.

Re: What ever present tune in recent ish sets could you happily do without?

Lucretia is played by them as my old band used to do, guitar instead of bass, so I can't complain. I wouldn't want them to drop "This Corrosion" as they have now reached a version that is simply great without having to employ a choir. What I could do without is "When I'm On Fire"...

Thanks, that was really interesting. Didn't know that Heartland was his (did he ever get a proper credit for that?). And the link to "Rock It" was was the cherry on the cake for me, as I don't have any connections to get unreleased Ghost Dance songs.

Shouldn't that be the trinity of Seventeen Seconds to Pornography (else it wouldn't be a trinity)? Yes, this is my favourite Cure period as well, but I still like what they do today, and their concert in Munich Oct 2022 was simply awesome.

The song itself is very good, but is the distortion done on purpose or did Spotify mess it up?

Should I have mentioned AC/DC at Nuremberg, Zeppelinfeld, 27/07/2024? Probably, because it was, in fact, really good.
As for upcoming events: Summer Breeze, Dinkelsbühl, Germany, 14/08 - 17/08: Amon Amarth, Sodom and >100 others. And Memoriam (as we can't get Bolt Thrower anymore)

I don't get it why Lucretia should be out - the version on Floodland is 4:57 long.

And Marian: could be easily learned phonetically, and will impress all your friends when you get it right (hey - it's just 3 different lines)

CD 1 is Victims of Circumstance, I'd say
CD 2 looks like Amsterdam, Melkweg, 1984
CD 5 seems to be taken in parts from the Gary Marx Tape / Floorshow EP

Welcome to Heartland from someone who loves English literature (I'm German), but also doesn't get Von's meaning at first glance most of the time.

Würzburg is just one of those totally un-hip places to have this happen.

Yes, we have 4 sisters again. Andrew introduced the guitarist with „This is Cat“ or something similar (might be Kai. Looks Asian)
