Re: Password strength and security

Password manager plus MFA is the way to go, IMO. We don't always do it, and I'm as guilty as the next person of slipping up in the name of personal convenience from time to time, but people really should be thinking of this as like leaving their front door keys in the street rather than as a problem...

Re: "Black Album" bootleg - Eldritch/Pearson demos

Yeah, Top Nite Out is the only one that's actually any good, but none of the rest even sound like the songs as we know them, although Crash & Burn could make a case for being a (very distant) second best.

These will turn out to have been someone noodling in their bedroom with a PC, nothing more.

Re: Von interview courtesy of Mr Andrews...

NOBODY i spoke to after any of the gigs was in the least bit surprised at the lack of 'new new new' songs... almost as if we never really expected it to be true. come on, most of us have been at this almost as long as Andrew! certainly the hardcore following have been members of this relationship f...

Definitely best of the three. It was a lot louder too, a few others I spoke to after said the very same: you could actually feel the bass tonight.

Re: 2021-09-10, Roundhouse, London UK

Likewise as well. I'm not too concerned because they did say tickets 48 hours before the show, so I wasn't expecting Saturday's until Friday morning (for a loose definition of "48 hours"), and maybe Sunday's came early because Saturday isn't a business day. It's still fair criticism that they could ...

I think he said "one song" had been so compiled, and we've since assumed it was Never Land on the basis that it couldn't really be anything else.

Re: Paint My Name In Black and Gold: The Next Phase

I pledged, and I'm proud and honoured to have been a part of making this happen. The fact that Amazon or whoever are selling it for less doesn't bother me, because I helped make it happen, I'll have my name in the book, and I'll have all the extra cool stuff that's coming with it. F--k knows, it's a...

Re: New interview with Ben

While it's definitely a nice interview, the lack of immediate plans to record or release does feel like a step back from early last year. A few of us had it direct from the band that But Genevieve was to be a single last summer, but then nobody could have predicted the way last year turned out, and ...

It's from a Leonard Cohen song, so I'd guess they're the people you'd potentially need to clear it with.

Re: RSD BBC Sessions release

Got mine earlier in the week and have been enjoying it since. The physical packaging is what they used to call "vinyl replica sleeves" back in the day, and slap a premium price on to match. In 2021, for a budget release, and the way profit margins are nowadays, I can hardly complain. Like most of us...

Re: RSD BBC Sessions release

Its been stealable in mp3 format on a download site for 9 days now....if thats your kind of thing... Ah yeah, and like most of us I've had very high quality versions of all of these songs for decades too. But it's not the same, you know? It's not a new, official release, from the Sisters, acquired ...

This is slightly freaky because I'm going to be away for a short while, so I'm not going to see the physical package until Tuesday. I do expect that it'll hit the usual streaming and download services, and no doubt like the lunatic that I am I'll probably end up buying a digital copy of it as well....

Re: RSD BBC Sessions release

Von did mention that one of the original masters had been destroyed, so maybe that was the 1984 session. It would certainly explain the ongoing issues with it.

And oh, I guess since we're now doing versions of Damage Done, here's my personal Abrimaal-tribute-version, appropriately titled "The Damaged One" - enjoy, or hide behind the sofa, as you see fit.

Re: Somebody went there and covered Damage Done

These shoegaze covers are fine, but I was thinking that if any Sisters track screams out for the cheesiest possible techno remix it's this one. Something like this. (only not sounding like it was done over a lunch break by a tone deaf hack) https://soundcloud.com/user-272665427/the-damage-done/s-hw...

Re: How much longer?

As long as Von can, I suspect. Sure, he's consistently said he doesn't have to do this. But yet he does it. He's also a cantankerous, curmudgeonly contrarian. He is, as my dad used to say, so crooked that if he ate a nail he'd sh it an S-hook. In other words, there's a strong possibility that he sec...
