If anyone's interested (probably not! :-D) I got info off the Official Charts Company, via the BPI, confirming that Floodland was released on Monday 16th November 1987.

I got sent a screencap of the page containing the info but, unfortunately, I don't know how to post it on here.

It's bugged me for a long time, the belief all over the internet that it was released on the 13th November. It was indeed released on the 16th (Monday). I remember buying it on the day of release and it was definitely a Monday! I suppose Friday 13th sounds more "goth"

I do think AE keeps us all intrigued as he is a mystery man. He likes to keep us guessing. Wouldn't it be embarrassing for him during a gig his shades fell off for us all to see behind the mask!!  :von: We have seen him without shades. That 85 shoot (looking good) the pre Eldritch livi...

Were either of these albums really released on 13th November (Friday in 1987 and Tuesday in 1990)? I bought both of them on the day of release and seem to remember both days being Monday (in fact, I'd put money on it being a Monday when I bought Floodland). Monday was traditionally the day that new ...

And favourite songs? Far and away the title track and POSSESSION for me. I think most of us here will be in agreement over the objective superiority of side 2 :notworthy: tracks 3 to 5 are blinders also of course Subjective, if you please! I've always much preferred side 1. Possession and Some Kind...

But I am a little worried as to what the acoustics are like in the Turbine Hall - anyone been there for gigs? I saw Throbbing Gristle there a few years ago and it sounded pretty fine to me. Definitely going to try to get to one of these gigs. If I don't manage to get a ticket, though, they're playi...

Not even one show in holland? And only one show in Spain (Bilbao) :( Surprised as they've got quite a fanbase here (the DVD of the last tour was shot in Barcelona). Maybe they'll add more dates? On a different note, I'm not too keen on that new track but their albums have been hit and miss, t...

I couldn't find the "I have never listened to an entire Kraftwerk" option. Do most Sisters fans have a lot of Kraftwerk in their collection ?? Most of the Sisters fans I know have an extremely varied collection taking in all types of music and don't fit any kind of stereotype. I can't spe...

And why no Tour de France in the list? :) True. Shouldn't The Mix be in there too? It's full re-recordings of old stuff, not remixes, so it qualifies, no? :) I don't think either of them are truly great albums but both have their moments and even a mediocre Kraftwerk album will always be better tha...

Almost impossible for me to choose but, for me, it would be a tight contest between Trans-Europe Express, The Man Machine and Computer World (the holy trinity of Kraftwerk albums). If pressed, I'd probably plump for The Man Machine simply on account of the fact that it's got my favourite Kraftwerk s...

"Good concept album" ?? Surely an oxymoron. It's all a bit Spinal Tap. Oh not at all. I like albums that exist as thematic wholes, possibly because I've always liked listening to albums as albums (start with track one and off you go ... I still listen to albums like that, even on my iPod)...

I'm torn between Diamond Dogs and "Heroes". Side two of "Heroes" (oh, for the days when albums had "sides"!) is the best stuff ever to come out of Bowie's Berlin period and something I never tire of listening to. Possibly my favourite Bowie stuff of all, which makes me ...

I saw them at the Sonar festival in June and thought they were magnificent. A million times better than when I last saw them (2001), when I thought they were just rockist rubbish. To be honest I didn't miss Hooky at all. Gillian coming back, however, seems to have invigorated them. I think you shoul...

Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me. No contest. Lush, vibrant, colourful, exotic and in places rather quite sexy. I've never understood why The Cure (or, possibly, Robert Smith) insist on shying away from their talents as a fantastic pop band and mistakenly see their strength as being purveyors of self-pitying...

I don't think "techno" or "rave" or whatever can really cover the genuinely new styles of electronic music to have emerged in the last 15-20 years such as jungle, dubstep or IDM (horrible term but classing bands like Autechre as just "techno" isn't really accurate IMO)....

Of course, music is a purely subjective thing and I'd be much less upset listening to that O-Zone song on a three hour loop than to thirty seconds of U2. One man's meat and all that. Change of line up Do you mean Roger coming back or has someone else got up from / gone back to the subs bench? I'd certainly like to see them this year if they play anywhere near me. I wasn't completely impressed with them on the 4Tour. They definitely weren't crap by any means but some of those so...
