Re: Phil Spector has died

It's that old (or relatively new) debate...do you separate the art from the artist? Quite a few of the great artists (in all forms) ranged from not very nice people to murderers and psychopaths. It's easier I guess if it's centuries ago.

Re: Now Sisters 2021

I notice the Nephilim has just rescheduled for September too. Given the most people who go to gigs won't be vaccinated (in the UK at least) til summer and nobody is sure about whether vaccinated people can spread the virus or how long the immunity is for, does anybody think gigs will go ahead? I don...

Re: Gift reissue plus extras

It's just a f**king joke, Eldritch is not even able to release a record that he has actually already released. Sorry, pathetic :urff: Think we all need to calm down a bit. I presume nobody really knows :von: personal life. Perhaps he has a very good reason for not rereleasing it. There are more thi...

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 isn't a Sisters fan

I've just started Dead Souls on the PS4. You die. Then you die again. Then you move forward a bit. Then you die again. It's kind of Zen. :von: Yakuza Dead Souls? Or Dark Souls? Sounds like Dark Souls for sure ;D Ah yep, sorry, Dark Souls it is. It's weird. I'm not terribly great at games (apart fro...

Blimey. Are there any missing or is that a complete collection? Thinking official only obviously, clearly you're missing the one in my avatar. There's a few Reptile House ones that ain't there. The Vision Thing grey lyrics one, the Andy Warhol soup can/cross one for instance. But a very impre...

It's the 30th anniversary shirt isn't it? Already had it but got it for £12 so not complaining. :D Including 1st class mail it was £15 for me. But I ordered what I saw. Although that's purely academic right now if the thing doesn't even show up. True. Must admit I didn't look closely enough. I just...

Re: The Great Heartland Biscuit Thread

On a slight tangent. They're selling dunkin donuts in my local Spar now. The question is do the type of people exist that actually dunk them? Strikes me as even worse than the types that ruin tea by putting biscuit in it!

Is the zip made of solid gold?
Heh. It is a bit on the dear side but I figured that since there's very little likelihood of a tour this year, a Christmas present to myself was justified!

Re: It was thirty years ago today...

Still my favourite Sisters album. :von: at his best lyrically. Yeah the music sometimes strays into rock parody but intelligent rock parody when lyrics added. Isn't that what the Sisters at the beginning started out with the intention to be? For me VT is the culmination of that. One of the finest an...

Re: The Quietus podcast reappraising Floodland

Vision Thing hit the record stores as musical tastes in the UK and beyond were taking a huge left turn. To my ears it was Von's attempt to grab the American dollar with a hair metal/rawk pastiche. However, here we went baggie and the Yanks went grunge and the album flopped into the chasm between. I...

Maybe Jamaica, Queens, NYC? Ahhhh.....it makes sense now  :D Damn you and your making sense! (shakes fist at sky) ;D Once got DHL to deliver a parcel from Dublin to Derry. It went of course to Derby then somehow to Brussels where it caused a security alert. They thought it was a bomb!

Laws that keep civilization from falling: Don't use teabags. Don't put milk in tea. Don't dunk anything in said milkless tea. We really should have a Tea Police. I almost wrote we really should have a Tea Party but realised that didn't turn out very well in the US.
