... at the time, 'Pretty Hate Machine' was a great album and still stands the test of time. With the release of 'Broken', it was pipped IMO. I didn't like much after that. I think 'Downward Spiral' was good, but a totally different style and there are a few gems in and amongst - I prefer the stompin...

At the time of sale it was displayed as a limited edition. I remember my mates sneering at me for buying it - none of us had a CD player at the time  It has occurred to me that I have never played actually it  There are no markings on the item indicating that it is limited or what the num...

Anyone for swaps?

I have a few books and vinyls that are duplicate or surplus to requirement. Granted, I could sell them on eBay or some other auction site but I thought I'd offer them here for swaps. Perhaps you have a duplicate of something I'd like? I have: Heartland 2 - Original print Summer 1989 Heartland 3 - Or...

A new flavour for me. I had some Swedish salted licquorice the other day ... really odd, initially, if not repulsive (to British tastes) ... but curiously addictive after a while.

Still, not as bad as surströmming

Something Swan, aye, that's right. Dead Sex definitely rings a bell, yes! I saw my mate's band Mr Jolly there, supporting Dead Sex. Same gig? There was some rumour about "Jolly" being killed in a car crash. I first heard that when they (Mr Jolly) were a no-show at Rio's in Bradford and I ...

Many many moons ago, what is now Oporto on Call Lane in Leeds used to be a pub. I don't remember what the pub was called, but they would occasionally have live bands ... White Swan? Black Swan? Some thing of swan (let me look into your eyes) Was the band with coffin delivery called Dead Sex?

This issue of spines is not as clear cut as we think it might be. I reckon a number of singles were released with and without spines at the same time. It makes an interesting twist for any collector :D

Thanks for the reply. So Tony had left the band.

I have an early demo of 'Body Electric' where the bass sounds very similar. It is a fantastic sound re-captured on 'Alice (1993)'.

Who played bass on 'Alice (1993)'?

Who played bass on 'Alice (1993)'? Was it Tony James, or had he left by the time that was recorded? I was listening to it in the car today and ... MY LORD!!!
