Photoblog with 1980s wavers/postpunks/'goths'
I've been running a photoblog about the fans of this type of music. Maybe there are people on the blog you know!!! I also collect pics of some artists of those days, for instance the Floodland days of the Sisters. My blog can be found here: http://nowthisisgothic.tumblr.com/ The photoarchives are al...

Hah, I walked out of so many gigs to have a chat in the lounge or smoke area. Short attention span? (yes) Some were really poor, though. I've never been a FotN fan, but I found their gig at WGT 2011(?) very boring and still don't see why everyone likes them so much and almost everyone at WGT stayed ...

That's what I concluded from the book's research In the Netherlands (where I come from) darker new wave and goth was ignored for years. Clan of Xymox (in my eyes musically one of the better and interesting acts) was completely ignored! Luckily they got an 4ad deal! Especially for the eastern-europea...

There are actually a couple of photos of a The Sisters of Mercy convention from 1987! I prefered a part on more 1980s TSoM leather jackets, but there weren't enough quality photos sadly. My special wish for the book was a section of the Floodland era and especially photos from the Dominion video. Th...

Some Wear Leather, Some Wear Lace:Postpunk&Goth in 1980s
http://media.tumblr.com/da8d43fcd2ae9115fb2d3b1af7aa8b00/tumblr_inline_n7vkbnsISW1r81uva.jpg It was a scene that had many names: some original members referred to themselves as punks, others new romantics, new wavers, the bats, or the morbids. ‘Goth’ did not gain lexical currency until the late...

I have the German ME/sounds article and the photos are by 'P. Rider © smash hits' I've thought of this P(aul) Rider but after asking a couple of times in time (agent, website, personally, faceook even) I have no confirmation if he did shot the photos or not. Might be another P. Rider? I've searched...

Also i don't own the floodland album (this corrosion version is annoying and so are 2 other songs) - and discogs/google often gives: ''Alistair Thain, Mike Owen'' as photographers for this album. Those are in researchlist/have been contacted too. I'm not really looking for empty replies like the fir...

You obv didnt read well. You have no clue what research is done apart from also dropping a message on a board like this one too. It could be the case someone (roadies?) on here ever was involved making that video / remembers from old magazines/promophotos who shot those. I'm asking a longgoing fanba...

Photography Floodland era
Hi all! For a book about postpunk/wave/goth 1980-1990 I'm also looking for photos of The Sisters of this era - basically because it's my own favourite era and the promotional photos are quite spread, I've noticed. However, it's still rather hard to trace down the photographers and HQ files (which is...

We're just looking for people who went to see postpunk bands, clubs with such music, etc. http://nowthisisgothic.tumblr.com/archive to get an idea. I prefer the name ''postpunk'' myself really. Though some didn't really look ''postpunk'' after a while - the whole darker look, etc - then goth seems t...
