Re: Anne Applebaum

There‘s name dropping and there‘s name dropping. Reading the Applebaum citation was like a bucket of ice water. „Oooh, he reads Alfred Rosenberg, he truly must be an intellectual.“ Wanker. Everything suddenly made sense.

Re: Possible unreleased song album covers from Overboming

Bruhn gave some interviews to German „Zillo“ magazine in 1993. He said the band broke apart during the rerecording of „Temple of Love“ in 1992 when the studio sessions decended into the nightmare of the album sessions again. Then Bruhn presented Mr. Eldritch a bunch of song ideas he had written for ...

Re: Ben Christo and levelling up

I sincerely hope that Dylan returns to the band and joins them soon mid-tour. Without him, the Sisters might have just withered away and ended during the US bioweapon lockdown, instead of returning with a brand new set of fresh songs.

Re: Your Hypothetical New Sisters Album Track List

Well, as Andy isn‘t capable of singing any more, someone should use AI and generate artificial Eldritch vocals out of Tobias Forsner‘s. There‘s a version of The Clash‘s „Train in Vain“ on Youtube with artificial Joe Strummer vocals, and I found it quite convincing.

Re: Sisters Of Mercy Demos on "Heady Daze" CD

I ordered the book just for the CD, so the inclusion of a previously unheard Sisters demo of „Wake“ was a pleasant surprise. All the home demos are cassette sourced, the studio demos also.

Sisters Of Mercy Demos on "Heady Daze" CD

My "Heady Daze" book arrived today with the eagerly awaited CD with demos for the second Sisters album. There are three Strawberry Studios outtake on it, two widely known outtakes ("Garden Of Delight" with Wayne's guide vocal from the 1984 album session, and "Serpents Kiss&q...

Re: ‚Emma‘ question

Okay, I put my listening helmet on, Gary Marx‘s guitar lines are noticeably absent from this particular version, so I think it is from the April/June 85 sessions at Strawberry.

‚Emma‘ question

Does Gary Marx play on the „Victims of Circumstance“ studio version of „Emma“? In other words, is this version an FALAA outtake, or is it a post-Marx outtake from the spring 85 sessions at Strawberry?

Re: Body Electric/Adrenochrome sped up?

I mean, sped up to a higher key. Similarly, „Fix“ has been slowed down to a lower key, compared to the live versions (or they tuned down the bass and guitars for this one).

Body Electric/Adrenochrome sped up?

When I compare the single version of „Adrenochrome“ with the Floorshow demo and live versions, it appears to me that they definitely sped up the tape. I‘m not sure if it is just the backing track that has been sped up or if the vocals have been sped up, too?

I don't know id this has not come up yet, but "Dominion" is a straight rip-off of the Fun Boy Three's "Our Lips Are Sealed".

Real drums on 'Floorshow' EP

Hi there, don't know if this has been discussed before. I had a listen to the 'Floorshow'-EP yesterday using headphones. During 'Floorshow' (the song) I noticed some real drums additionally being played over the drum machine part, specifically during: 0:10-0:33 min 0:44-1:08 min 1:25-1:40 min 1:48-2...

Paris Riots = a band David Wolfenden played in, before he joined the Expelaires! Must have been ~1977/78.

The US Copyright Office website gives a release date of 16 February 1987 for the soundtrack album. Both songs sound more like Blondie than the Violets.

Patricia Morrison was asked about that in an interview

She laughed and said Forget it, there was nothing.
