very nice, many discussions were held over the years. can you point out once more the enlarged part right in the cover was taken from? Hi. Are you asking about the murky and (seemingly) featureless piece on the far right? This piece here? http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g208/suskified/Main/rep.jp...

God, this version of "Emma" (from the July '84 Peel Sessions if the info on the bootleg booklet image is accurate) is absolutely phenomenal. Been on repeat all morning. Mind blown :notworthy:

Also, this has probably been posted somewhere on this site before but just noticed the "Family Tree" inside the first few pages of the "Life" book. Figured I'd include here for the heck of it:

Sisters of Mercy - Life (book/cd) 1988

Digging around in storage last night and found the "Life" book which contains a Sisters bio as well as a collection of lyrics, pictures, etc. My girlfriend special ordered it for me back in 1993. Import from Italy. It came with an accompanying 3" mini-cd with "Emma" and &quo...

Hell yeah. Of the "mid-period" Paradise Lost stuff, I liked Host more but One Second definitely has more of the Sisters' vibe.

kinda depends. Sisters' music has certainly changed over the years. Depends on your favorite era, I suppose. For me, the early to mid-80's moody stuff has always been my fave...Reptile House, etc. If you're into that stuff definitely check out: Joy Division, early Cure (Faith LP, Pornography LP), an...

You should definitely check out the 1984 Peel Session because Emma is included there also and there it features Eldritch/Marx/Adams/Hussey. Used to be available in crappy sound on bootlegs in former times, but nowadays we have digital audio broadcast from the BBC... and the Sharing section Thanks! ...

I don't think the face you marked was cut and dropped on top of the arch, I think only the arch was cut and moved to the left. Then it would find its place below the "smiling face" (as I called it). "Reptiles" indeed :) This is too good to be just a coincidence. OK, yeah Kutan y...

Thanks for the tip on the "Emma" studio version a moment ago. Just bought the Floodland bonus tracks through itunes. On the stereo now. Never heard this studio version until now. Subdued and stirring compared to the quicker live versions I've heard over the years. Brilliant!! Thanks again ...

Wow, so check this out....I just made my way over to ebay and located a copy of the Dec 1968 issue of National Geographic. Sure enough, there's the "Mekong, River of Terror and Hope" article listed on the cover which contained the Bayon pics used for the Reptile House e.p. cover. BUT! also...

Excellent work. But I think only the lower part of the right section has been shifted to the left. The smiling face in the middle of the original photo fits the Reptile House cover better, IMHO. Good point. Well, it does look like the whole right section was shifted to the left, but yeah the middle...

Reptile House ep cover

Way way too much time on my hands at the moment.... Digging around looking for the origins of the Reptile House e.p. coverart (thanks to previous post I think I've located the national geographic article the inspiring image came from - Dec 1968 issue, I think). So, looks like there was some doctorin...

Hey there SteBacchus / Quiff Boy / Ozpat. Thanks to everyone for the great info! Haven't ordered the Floodland re-issue yet but I think it's imminent! Hey, thanks for the info. Just found and downloaded mp3's of the No Time to Cry b-sides from amazon. "Bury Me Deep" on the stereo here at last. Haven't heard it in ages. Probably end up buying the darn remaster cd anyway. Any extras in the packaging? Photos, commentary, etc?

Hello there. My name is Scott. I live in Pennsylvania, US. I've been in quite a nostalgic tailspin lately with the old Sisters stuff and after stalking the heartland site for last few weeks, figured I'd say hi. As for me, I first heard the Sisters in 1992 as a teenager. I heard "Marian" at...
