It's actually a normal six string guitar, a Vox, if I remember correctly. And you're right, I was learning to play at the time, so it is, indeed, a bit wonky.

No offence, but when JansenClone says it is Craig, I would believe him over you. None taken, but I wasn't joking when I said that I could say with absolute certainty that that isn't Craig on the track. My source is better than sources close to Craig. That's OK, though.
