I'll be there...

Didn't buy my ticket particularly promptly, but still got #30; hopefully there'll be a few more than that there.

BODY AND SOUL I've now transferred both Body And Soul singles, 7" and 12" ... I finally ripped my copy of the 12" last year and Afterhours (IMO, one of the very best Sisters' tracks) sounds really nasty in places, as if it's overloading or clipping or something. The disc is in pretty good condition...

Had a lovely chat with (producer) Laura from the BBC last night, talking about goth culture and the Sisters; she thinks that Temple Of Love has been selected for the show's playlist.

Hopefully some of my ramblings will make the broadcast on the 30th. :)

BBC Radio 2: The People's Songs

The Love Cats - A Peculiarly British Style to be broadcast (quelle surprise) on 30th October 2013. No mention of the Sisters, but there's still time to change that; send them your comments and stories.

It definitely wasn't Grace's copy of FALAA; the BBC provided her with the records for display on the wall of sound.

Danny Baker's Great Album Showdown (BBC4: 07/02/2013)

So, it turns out that Grace Dent thinks that FALAA is one of the top three pop albums of all time... O_o

Best Live Bootlegs?

Apologies if this has been done before, but what do you consider to be the best Sisters' live bootleg available? I'm particularly thinking of audio quality and, of the small number that I have, would probably suggest that Live In Amsterdam 1984 is the clearest; the 12 minute version of Ghostrider/Si...

Last saw Kraftwerk at the Brixton Academy in 2004; despite being largely composed of video projections and (presumably) pre-recorded audio tracks, I'd rank it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Can't wait!

Sorry; I've no idea who JR is... Total running time has come out at 3:08:25 but it divides fairly nicely up into four discs (how quaint): tracks 01-10 (41:31) are nominally FALAA era, 11-20 (58:10) are all from the Floodland releases, 21-29 (48:25) are from Vision Thing and then 30-36 (40:19) are th...

Every time the 'chorus' comes in (y'know: "dum dum dum duum / dum dum dum duum / dum diddly duum duummm") and it gets a little louder, there's massive distortion and clipping. I guess it's either deliberate, or there was an issue pressing the discs 'cos both my copies sound the same. Still an absolu...

Listening again to Afterhours, both to my own 12" rip and a FLAC I got off the Internet years ago, the sound quality is just terrible.

I first heard Floodland in 1989 when I went to university. I shared a room in my first year and me and my roommate happily pick through each others record collections, playing them on an obese 'portable' vertical turntable (one of these in fact). Up till then, I'd been listening to Marillion, Genesi...

Afterhours is one of my favourite Sisters' tracks; it's just so brooding and oppressive, but with a beautiful little hook. Still unbelieveable that there's no CD release available... :(
