Re: No Mr Bond. I expect you to die

am pretty sure by that point he'd lived in the US longer than he was ever in Scotland, so hell why not play a spaniard  I just did a quick check and Ramirez from Highlander was actually Egyptian  God bless you Sean Connery, you were aware of the rules but chose to ignore them. Pity about ...

Re: No Mr Bond. I expect you to die

It was Hunt for Red October for me, just brazenly using a Scottish accent for a Latvian-born Russian submarine captain. Yep, as with The Untouchables, he's an Irish cop with a Scottish accent because Connery. I can imagine the discussions, let's say for Highlander, and you, Sean, are playing a Span...

Re: No Mr Bond. I expect you to die

90 years, what a milestone! We should all be so lucky. I'm not a fan of classic Bond (sorry) so I watched The Untouchables at the weekend, instead. Great film, great performance from Connery, RIP.

Re: It was thirty years ago today...

It's weird looking back because although I'm sure Floodland sold more copies, during this Vision Thing period, The Sisters seemed everywhere much more. At least that's my perception of it and I'll be the first to admit me memory isn't....er....something or other. It could be because I actually prefe...

For people like me who can only afford Council telly I'll have to see if it pops up elsewhere.
Sky Arts is available on Freeview at the moment.

Not sure if it will get repeated soon though.

Re: Re-re-run of currently watching

Thought I'd try to broaden my horizons (maybe films not set in space can be good) by watching this classic on the BBC iplayer and there's plenty to like but, for the life of me, I don't get the appeal of Bogart. The guy talks like he's late for work all the way through it. Worth a look though. https...

Whilst I fully support Andy Burnham in what's going on right now I can't shake the feeling he looks like a supporting character in a crap 90's Hugh Grant movie.

It's gone very quiet. Is there any chance this has been pulled by Andrew? I admit I haven't looked but has he gone on record (pun intended) saying he supports this?

Re: Tower of Strength 2020

Probably a bit traitorous to say this (or perhaps not on this board) but of the half hour of TOS I got for £2.99 the original was still the best and, after said half an hour, I'd heard enough TOS to last me a wee while. But, hey, it's for a good cause with a pretty A-list line up so the boy done well.

Re: Eldritch and Morrissey?

Johnny Marr said some nice things about TSOM and Eldritch in his recent book and so did Chuck D. If a man is judged by the company he keeps I reckon you can also judge a musician by the words written about him by other musicians in autobiographies. And I' m not sure many people write nice things abo...

Yeah, I was gutted about this one. Weird for a musician who's done precisely bugger all for the last twenty years but perhaps that's the point. Anyway, Talk Talk never did a crap album and the last two were that thing we seem to have lost; music to sit and listen to rather than music to have on. The...

Quite often star quality has nothing to do with how many records you've sold or what movies you've appeared in and Peter Burns epitomised this.

I voted Corbyn and I'll continue to vote Labour for real because, even though I'm not convinced on his Prime Ministerial credentials, could he really be any worse than what we have now?
