Re: 2024-10-26: HISTORY, Toronto, ON, Canada

I completely forgot to mention, someone at one point yelled "New Album!!" Von stuck his head past the mic, tilted his head, screwed up his face and I swear he mouthed a silent mocking "nyew album new album, myeh myeh myeh meh myeh" sentence. It was great.

Re: 2024-10-26: HISTORY, Toronto, ON, Canada

After twenty years of Sisters fandom, this was my very first gig, and I'm pleased to say I found it excellent on the whole. Sometimes Von was quite audible, other times not so much. The band being what it is, it's hard to always pay attention, so I only discovered the existence of Quantum Baby the n...

Re: NEW SONGS!

It never fails. You get onto a heavy Sisters binge, get distracted by other pretty shiny bands, relegate the Sisters to that spot in the back of your mind's record shelf reserved for bands who've been and done and will likely never see anything new from...and then all THIS happens. Still digesting t...

Re: Official Sisters Merch

I'd like an order of "Adam Pearson resurfaces and decides digital releases are okay" with a side of "For god's sake it's 2020 and that has been the standard for some time now" with a serving of "Romeo Down's bassline kicking my turntable's ass" for dessert. Buuuuuut fai...

Re: Latest Sisters purchase

With the twenty or so bands I follow I've been lagging behind, but I finally got hold of the 2015 Floodland box yesterday. That's two down and two to go...

Re: Today I have been mostly...

Local cathedral in my district was ringing bells at 2:00 PM or so. Girlfriend reported seeing a man with a US flag out of his car smiling as he drove, cheering and honking. Lot of smiles in the air today. There's this palpable sense of relief that just seemed to be everywhere I went today...and I'm ...

Wait...I tune out for a few years, tune in, this is a thing that's happening (?) and there are a bunch of new songs?

Never a dull moment except when there are...

But I am still completely engrossed in the needle drop project of yours :notworthy: . This set would have to go a long way to get much better than that. ^ The only point I was making. ;) I'm still immensely grateful for the vast, vast vast improvement in quality over the SGWBM CD thanks to which, f...

Agreed for the most part. It's not like these are necessary....above all, certainly there have been some wonderful fan-tuned adjustments to audio quality in recent years *coughthanksverymuchcough* :) but I'm still very curious to hear how this turns out. The other lp sets have been fantastic imo.

Toss-up between War on Drugs and Romeo Down.

Probably giving it to Romeo Down because it seems there's some manner of curse whenever I hear a good-quality recording his screams go into full-on muppet mode, bless him.

Agreed on WOD, but I do enjoy Come Together a great deal. If by some chance there's a North American tour this year I'd certainly not complain if they both made a return.

Arms I can't get into very much as, well...Killing Joke's Millennium is an old favorite of mine. Comparisons etc.

I keep my fingers crossed for a new album, but I'm certainly not holding my breath. As far as known recorded output goes, I have a hard time believing he'd be worried of tarnishing his legacy with many of the known unreleased tracks at the very least. Most of those are old standards by now, many goi...

Likelihood of new singles compilation/ new Some Girls?

Hello all, got a Q. Apologies if it's come up, but didn't see a specific topic for it: Anyone familiar with the status of the early singles, possession of masters and/or licensing wise? As a kid of the 90's who grew up with CDs, I've had Some Girls for some years and became acquainted with the early...

I guess this thread's is as good as any to make my first post: It was about 2002 or so when I first started listening, I think. I met someone from Manchester at a party - who would go on to become a very good friend over the years. The first thing she said to me was "Take off those shades, you ...
