I always thought 'something fast' was also one of his pet terms for the ol' amphetamine.

Re: Nigel, the lighting guy
I wrote this in another thread - My guess re the fog was for his voice, it does tickle a bit in the throat. Re the lights the lighting engineer changed between the last of the four dates pre covid, a guy called Lee and the first of the Roundhouse triple header. I always used to chat to Lee but some...

Re: Nigel, the lighting guy
Been wondering this myself - his 90s work definitely defined how the sisters should look onstage for me and i'd love to see what he's doing these days.

Re: Has the fog cleared
I'm hoping the new approach looks better live, but recordings of it are remarkably uninspiring. A static web of beams and an occasional flash from upstage really doesn't give the dynamics that Nige consistently wrung out of his rigs. I assume it's by band request, but the current visual approach re...

Re: On criticism of Edritch and post-2000 Sisters
The gig recordings from 82 / 83 have a raw and dynamic sound - the songs are fresh and they are developing from almost amateur / post-punk to professional. An exciting period. ... But if you collect the better bootlegs or can obtain the DJONES or Western Dream (ROSTILL) etc tapes, you really get a ...

Re: Are The Sisters a left-wing political band?
To be frank, I'm much too aloof to concern myself with ordinary day-to-day political schitt, but are The Sisters a 'left wing' political band? This could and would be telling... the government has labelled us 'terrorists', but that's only coz we have more to lose than they do, due to their false AB...

I think that itnAklipse's grasp on AE's current status is actually fairly accurate (and honestly, as I said before, I think this is the only time I've ever agreed with itnAklipse on anything ever, so I think I'm being fairly objective here) - spending more money on fancy lighting isn't going to bri...

Maybe volunteers haven't been knocking at the door? Wanna try? Then again, if you go there harking on about recently lost bassists and stadiums and record deals, i'm not sure he'd have you...and i'm not sure you'd be the one to improve things, either, Jim-bo. Not really my scene - I'm not a rock'n'...

Whatever the explanation is, there's also the question of time/cost-efficiency. The Sisters/Eldritch give always a good performance, in my opinion, but something like lighting...it's not artistically 100% satisfactory but the reality of it is they wouldn't be making more money if it was perfect, mo...

This is an interesting question, but first thing that comes to my mind from the new videos i've seen is that they need to use MORE SMOKE as they did often before. Lots of it! Yeah, sometimes people complained about it, but for me it's an important element that's poorly utilised these days. Agreed -...

2017 Live Lighting
Hi! I'm new here, but didn't see much in a search. I'm curious about the current state of TSOM lighting - I know in '98 it was that madman Nige, but I've been watching 2017 footage and it looks like things have changed. It looks like they've got a fairly standard touring floor package at this point ...
