Re: 2023-11-18. NX, Newcastle UK
YT Upload Marian (but I missed the bloody start - phone was red hot) https://youtu.be/vjv1k7DInKs This is cool, and I am very pleased to see Eldo back up and running. You know what would be cooler than Ben bolstering the vocal low-end on Marian though? I feel like that song, the whole 'joke' of it ...

Re: Germany in January
How many in the current setlist did Pearson write the music for? Is "Crash and Burn" one of his? Romeo Down came back in briefly last year too Romeo Down is an underrated classic, we can't lose that one either I love the song too - its got such a weight and tension to it. I tend not to weigh in on ...

Now there's a post-punk question for the ages. Would TJ make more money rejoining the Sisters than he does in Generation Sex? Inquiring minds want to know!

Re: Kai as a permanent member
Another thing that happened since Chris left, which may or may not be a coincidence, is that we have less FALAA/pre-falaa songs being played and we don't have ridiculous covers (I miss them immensely) anymore. I feel the same way. Fallon said "I think that the Sisters ought to get a bit stranger wi...

IS ADAM PEARSON A WACKJOB? A Heartland investigation
Over in the Germany in January thread, I made the comment that Adam Pearson has vanished off the face of the Earth. Forum stalwart H.Blackrose asked: Is this him?!? "While music was my former profession, and I want to do more of this as a hobby in future, my main m*****n now is to get the world “kon...

Well, I looked at his profile pic in that weird "Konnekt" business and I thought, that doesn't look like our Adam. But I've had a look at this and I now have a feeling that yes indeed, our Adam is now an evil lunatic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8Z0M6N8f0w&ab_channel=TheNextEvolution That's a s...

Re: Germany in January
Well, with the obvious exception of Chris Catalyst (who in one sense never really ceased to be part of the Sisters), I don't really get the impression that Eldritch is that interested in prior lineups. The guest spots he's made room for lately generally seem to have more to do with his personal hist...

Re: On the Beach
In military parlance a Boonie is a hat, but it comes from the same origin word as boondock (tagalog word bundok). I take it to refer to the regular definition of boondocks, as in: I have seen them establish their enterprise on the fringes. It seems to connect with the other border imagery pervading ...

Re: Kai as a permanent member
I love Kai's falsettos and I think they're an unusual stage presence for this band, both of which are compelling reasons for a longer-term role in the band. I think that the Sisters ought to get a bit stranger with each evolution. But with no disrespect intended, Esprit D'Air are not my idea of a go...

reads like a wonky LLM "summary" of the official site to me Came to say the same thing. Never ceases to amaze me how much 'content' is produced around the Sisters that is just paraphrasing content the Sisters have already created. The strangest part is the Floodland/Patricia Morrison stuff, in whic...

Re: "He's not been well"
He's not a young person, and people who aren't young people get tired and unwell a little easier than many other people. Not sure that all the extra stuff about what's going on in the band is as relevant as all that. The fact is, there's a lot of people who don't get paid if the shows don't happen, ...

Re: On the Beach
Now stop me if I'm teaching you to suck eggs but like others, I'd assumed from the out that this song took its title from the Nevil Shute novel and the Stanley Kramer film adaptation - it gets interesting from there though. "On the beach" was, at the time the novel was written, navy slang for no lon...

Re: Happy Birthday Vision Thing - the Album
Eldritch wrote the verses to More. "I Need All The Love That I Can't Get To" and its variations are Jim's, as is the riff. He's used them elsewhere - a couple of times, I believe, but most embarrasingly, here . The lyrical changes in the Meat Loaf version are likely just to de-politicise it I suspect.

Re: Dance on Glass(demo) > Black Planet
Sorry, but I never liked the Dance On Glass version. Even if you set aside the actual quality of Wayne's lyrics, they're so dense and crowded. I know it's only a demo but I just feel like this version exemplifies Hussey's tendency to go big and busy, and I think the main reason his best (perhaps onl...

Tkt bought for this , as the venue is owned by K.K. Downing i look forward to the Sisters version of Breaking the law.... You can actually get from Priest to Sisters in three degrees of separation. Both bands have a song in which they share a co-writing credit with the late great producer Chris Tsa...

Given that the last thing the rather shameful "Do non-binary and/or non-confirming people exist and if so, are they human beings?" bad-faith 'debate' needs is another basically-white, basically-straight, basically-male person weighing in, I'll keep it fairly superficial: Beats the absolute hell out ...
