Re: NEW SONGS!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the new songs sound exactly the way they're meant to. I don't think they're 'unfinished' at all, other than those that are intentionally built that way. I'm pretty sure Von could knock out 8 minute dirges to beat the band if he felt like it. He doesn't, and this is what we get....

Re: NEW SONGS!

At least, if Von doesn’t want to produce anything, he could released the songs via « live here ». A very good live album could suits me very well. Yes, that would be better than nothing. The band is exceptionally tight and well rehearsed right now as well - it would be a good time to document what ...

Re: NEW SONGS!

I've been listening to the new songs daily for the last few weeks, and love them but last night I put Vision Thing on in the car and it made me a bit sad. Even the title track on the record - which is a musically relatively simple composition - has tonnes of layers and nuances and extra little detai...

Re: WHEN I'M ON FIRE

On first listen to When I'm on Fire, I thought I heard Von singing "Put your hands together" towards the end.

But on repeat listen, it's starting to sound more to me like he's singing "put your hand together" as in a hand of cards or a play of action?

Anyone else?

Re: NEW SONGS!

I've been listening to the full list of new songs in a playlist once or twice a day for the last month, and I've gotta say, they're really grown on me. Strangely I've started to find that the lyrics in the songs that I originally found . . . odd have actually really started to just sound 'right.' Th...

Absolutely. Thank you very much. The last few weeks have been tremendous fun, waking up to see what epic new song has been played.

Re: NEW SONGS!

My guess is that the keys are still mostly pre-programmed - that's just my hunch based on the synths on the new songs sounding pretty much identical each time. I'd guess he's adding accents, perhaps playing some of the longer intros for But Genevieve, Don't Drive on Ice etc, when they start the gigs...

Re: NEW SONGS!

Courtesy of Simon Cardwell on Facebook, a grainy and blurry shot from last night's gig in Salzhaus, confirmation that Davey is definitely equipped with a keyboard. So that settles that. Unless it's a prop, he's playing at least some keys live. That's fantastic, and unless I'm mistaken, is something ...

Re: "Sisters, 2022 edition'

Random thought of a Monday morning - I downloaded MrBlonde 's compilation of the new tracks from the sharing section, added it to Apple Music and played it. Sounds great. But then a rip of the video for 'We Are the Same Suzanne' came on, and it just sounds magnificent. That's effectively the last 'r...

Re: "Sisters, 2022 edition'

And another couple of tracks. There is a door. The eyes of a Caligula. We're rapidly approaching the point where it's going to be quicker to list the new songs from the main site that they haven't played, rather than those they have. This feels really really strange. I'm so used to being underwhelme...

Re: NEW SONGS!

Ben told me Creff was heavily involved getting the new songs together when they started working on them. I guess he doesn't "write" much if anything, but he's crucial to the "production" and sequencing with drums, bass, keys etc. And it sounded like he's in full charge of The Doktor nowadays. I had...

Has anyone noticed that the lead synth in When I'm On Fire plays a melody similar to the organ motif in the Vincent Price part of Michael Jackson's Thriller?
Yes, it's pretty similar. I really like it but it's too close to be accidental. They have to know - Ben is such an 80s fan.

Re: NEW SONGS!

Well, there is a page in the SistersWiki, which surely also needs to be reworked ... but I can't cut myself into pieces. https://sisterswiki.org/Ravey_Davey and the current role of Ravey Davey is described by Ben in that recent German interview ... https://myheartland.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2841...

i like the Ravy’s Intro in But Genevieve :D
I believe most of us in here or those that go to the concerts and follow the band are very well aware about his contribution. Those that don't follow close don't. :bat:

Re: "Sisters, 2022 edition'

Also, just occured to me that if we're indulging in the fantasy of them recording these tracks, there's no reason why Crash & Burn and Summer couldn't find their way in there too. (I've never bought the nonsense about copyright etc, unless the people involved in writing those tracks actively spitefu...

Re: NEW SONGS!

I don’t think Ravy’s part in all of this should be understated Yes, I've heard people suggest this on here and elsewhere. Genuinely just wondering why you think that? Has he been credited with musical input somewhere I've missed? I've always taken his role to be a sort of honorary 4th (human) membe...

Re: "Sisters, 2022 edition'

Here's my tracklisting. So many incredible openers, it's tricky to pick. Better reptile would set an awesome tone that I'm not sure the rest of the album would follow up on. I've gone the hype route. Open on bangers, slowly bring it down to make a point, then return in a big way for the ending. Ooh...

Re: NEW SONGS!

Okay the two new songs played last night need to be reckoned with. They're really strong. Like, what the hell happened? How have they managed to write so many bangers in such a short period of time, compared to the output of the lasts 25 years? Has Von been sitting on some of these for decades, wait...

Edited my original post to include the two new tracks premiered this evening. (Not including Instrumental 86 as I have a gut feeling it’s not like the others. The Sisters have been playing a ‘new’ instrumental pretty much every tour since the early 2000s, ever since Top Nite Out. I don’t think these...

"Sisters, 2022 edition'

So to all intents and purposes, we now have the new album. It hasn’t been given a title or been released, but the Sisters are out on tour, playing gigs with five, six and seven brand new songs in the setlist – I’d humbly suggest that even if they had actually released a recorded album, this is the t...

Re: NEW SONGS!

'Here' is growing on me. I'd like to take a second to congratulate Dylan on adding something genuinely unique and new to the sisters sound. That acoustic section before Ben's solo is excellent. It's creative, interesting, totally fits and is completely unique in the sisters canon. I can't think of a...

Re: NEW SONGS!

Yeah, that reads suspiciously accurately to me. Well done. Although it seems to depend on which recording your working from. At Groningen he skips some of these, but he sings them elsewhere. (I don't think I could get that read of the lyrics if I was standing in front of Von lipreading while he sang.)
