Re: Sisters spotting

I second the "add a bassist" theme. Ain't gonna happen though. Those bass sounds (and the Doktors percussion sounds) are the result of thousands of hours of Eldritch twiddling the knobs until they now sound exactly precisely how he wants them. They're like his effing offspring. You gonna ask a guy t...

Re: "Black Album" bootleg - Eldritch/Pearson demos

I'm hoping someone will put together a compilation of the best sounding versions of the new songs from the past couple of years. I have basically done this, as no doubt many who are OC about their mp3 collection have. I can share but it's nothing more than downloaded mp3's from Youtube. Not super s...

Re: "Black Album" bootleg - Eldritch/Pearson demos

Aren't there some soundcheck recordings of those numbers? Easy to pass off as an "instrumental demo".

Re: Gift reissue plus extras

My money's on the early SKOS, how else to explain the 4 minute bluegrass guitar solo. Make sense if it was some record co drone patching it together.

T-shirts with lyrics from songs that will never be released, maybe never even heard live.

I guess it's appropriate for a Sisters fan, surprised it's taken this long actually.

Re: Somebody went there and covered Damage Done

These shoegaze covers are fine, but I was thinking that if any Sisters track screams out for the cheesiest possible techno remix it's this one. Something like this. (only not sounding like it was done over a lunch break by a tone deaf hack) https://soundcloud.com/user-272665427/the-damage-done-techn...

So, how do these things sound? I see some talk of remastering... are the any different to the available bootlegs, or to the stuff on the streaming services?

Was dismayed to discover that Spotify doesn't have any of Milk Inc's back catalog.
Streaming music services .... great until they aren't.

Re: covers you'd like to see

annoyingly one thing we COULD have easily, with next to no actual effort from Andrew (apart from merely selecting and uploading) is ALL the Mr Whammy-era 'new' songs in the same audio quality as the "We Are The Same Suzanne" that's on the official site I don't want to sound callous, and I hope Von ...

It's Untitled I believe: https://sisterswiki.org/Untitled

But is it just me or is it a different, longer mix? Or just the released version pasted together twice?

(edit: gah, the Spotify widget is awful, replaced it with a wiki link)

PJ are releasing it, but it's all sounded exactly the same (to me) for 30 years now. Is that better or worse? I am undecided and would like a viewpoint from someone not traumatised by waiting on TSOM

Re: currently cutting a rug to

Was listening to Pearl Jams 11th and latest album (Gigaton, 2020). I didn't love it, but it did make me wonder whether it's better to be a fan of a band that releases similar albums every couple years versus, say, a certain other band's approach: hardly any albums, but all great stuff with a widely ...

Re: Geek Anvil (currently geeking...)

As I mentioned elsewhere, I've been learning to use a DAW. Having no musical education at all this has involved learning my measures from my scales, etc. (Aside: why does one have to dig so deep to tie it all back to a baseline Hz value? After that things make much more sense. Why don't they start t...

Re: A Sisters Tribute album?

Personally I quite like many of the TSOM covers, and cover songs in general, as long as they bring along something new. Like Tori Amos covering Smells Like Teen Spirit, you gotta do something the audience and original performer didn't imagine. As indeed the covers of other bands the Sisters themselv...
