Re: NEW SONGS!
I don't entirely buy the 'not finished' line. Listening to the mp3 archive posted in the sharing section I get: DDOI: it goes Verse-Chorus-Verse-Chorus-Bridge(Ben's solo)-Chorus. I Will Call You: V-C-B(the phone-"line section")-V-C-B(I think those mumbled lyrics are unique?)-V-C But Genevieve: OK su...

Never fear, ROBOVON changes all the lyrics every time I run it.
Comes with a guarantee that the lyrics are 100% correct in at least one parallel universe.

Re: SHE'S A MONSTER
I awakened my Advanced Eldritchian Lyric Writing AI[1] from it's dreamy digital slumber and asked it to determine these lyrics. It's name is ROBOVON and this is what it revealed to me: =================================================== SHE'S A MONSTER sing this pretty over the money money money mon...

Re: No Covers in the new sets
That's not really how it goes, giving ground was recorded by band called the sisterhood, while rest are by TSOM, line-up has nothing to do with this. The recording copyright, sure. But the composition copyright is separate from that. Both attract royalties. https://assets.website-files.com/6054f29c...

Re: Least favourite sisters songs
Here is the score from 8 years of this thread. I counted unique clear responses only, ignored vague things like "yeah I mostly agree", and ignored the one guy who said "everything after 1985". There's always one. title dislikes --------------------------- ---------- You Could Be The One 10 Arms 8 Wh...

Re: No Covers in the new sets
Giving Ground has a "music&words: Eldritch" credit. In fact of the whole current set only Marian (Hussey/Eldritch) and More (Steinman/Eldritch) credit people who are not in the current lineup. And I think a couple of the gigs have skipped Marian too? Not that I'm an expert on music rights but I imag...

Re: Least favourite sisters songs
old thread but I'll bite Damage and Watch - we don't really talk about these I guess Wide Receiver - unreleased and rightly so Body Electric, Floorshow, 1969, Train. I think I'm just too far removed from the 70's and 80's post punk scene for these ones to push my buttons. Thanks to Spotify I can go ...

Re: "Sisters, 2022 edition'
To play devils advocate for a sec, haven't we been here before? Take the Leeds gig on 27 April 2003 - I count 9 unreleased songs (including Top Nite Out) in the set of 21. It's basically "peak Pearson". I wasn't frequenting this forum at that point, but surely the feeling must have been similar euph...

Re: Don't Drive on Ice
Do I count 180 bpm on this? Making it the fastest TSOM track ever, ahead of Better Reptile (176) and TOL (160)..
Or am I counting wrong and it's 90?

Re: Dutch interview, April 2022
nice interview, thanks for the translation
the Maiden intro riff is very similar to the TOL lead but that's about as far as it goes for me. Coincidentally (or not) Sheeran just won the case and this is a lot less derivative than Shape Of You.

Re: Here
imagine being in your 60's and being able to put on a loud shirt, jump up on stage and yell some inane doggerel like lametta and vendetta! lametta to the MAX! ... and earn a sweet chunk of pocket money from it (and selling related t-shirts). Imagine your drunken uncle tries that at a family wedding....

Re: Sisters covers - ALL the data
SQL :D Database and Statistic Methods applied :D I considered a SQL database but in the end went with a Jupyter notebook and a CSV file, it was simpler for this sort of thing and easier to store on Github. It doesn't even need more data to get sufficient and profound conclusions about the covers ma...

My favourite Sisters covers
I've listened to a lot of Sisters covers the last few weeks. Here are my favourites. Let me preface this by saying that I like covers where the artist has creatively taken the song in a different and unexpected direction, often to a different musical genre from the original, and made it work in a wa...

Re: Sisters covers - ALL the data
So can we conclude Lucretia is somehow the “best” song in that most people feel they want to get involved? Only that it's the most popular to cover. Which I guess implies some sort of sweet spot of popular appeal , distinctive to the Sisters, catchy riffs and hooks, easy to perform, memorable, and ...

Sisters covers - ALL the data
I analysed 987 covers of the Sisters from 818 unique artists across Spotify, Bandcamp, Soundcloud and YouTube. The TL;DR: - Most covered songs: Lucretia by a length, then Alice and Marian . - Most covered band line-up: Floodland , then FALAA and Reptile House jostling for second place. - Busiest yea...

Re: Sisters covers - the data
I have found a number of others too since posting Let me add: I have found a lot more. The linked playlist has more than doubled in size and the data in the OP is very inaccurate. Lucretia is way, way out in front. My original analysis was defeated by the wide variety of track titling people use fo...
