Re: Quantum Baby
I suspect that someone known to Eldritch is losing, or has lost, their memory, and I think he's saying "yes but the love and multitudes which this person held within them were so deep and vast in their reach, that if it really were possible to measure such things, then the cruel dismantling of...

Re: Incident in '84?
Hmm the alibis and evidence and impending reckonings in FALAA never felt, to me, to be references to actual criminal/legal incidents. They struck me more as "One day he/she/they will find out who/what I really am". Not sure I buy the connection.

Re: Von on films in Creem Mag
It's sort of become this mythical film on the basis of its supposed resemblance to Alien, but it's far from Bava's best, by a long shot. I never really considered at a good film, let alone a good Bava film. It's vaguely interesting as evidence of Bava's genius, but that comes down to how willing you...

Re: Von on films in Creem Mag
Eldritch thinks "Robert Rodriguez is a genius. No he's not. Couple excellent film and lot's of trash. I think he's a very good filmmaker from a formal perspective (which is distinct, I'd argue, from style). He shoots and edits in a way that allows him to cover his geography really cleanly, whi...

Re: Von on films in Creem Mag
lush primary colors (Mario Bava; Planet of the Vampires) One thing which has delighted me about this interview is something I'd previously suspected from Eldritch's comments about John Carpenter: he and I have a very similar taste in film. To that end, as a total Bava fiend and professional pedant,...

Re: The Sisters album names
Two of them are just named after lead songs (alright, FALAA is the lead song of side two, but you get the point), which I agree is a bit boring. Floodland, on the other hand, strikes me as a really good title, which ties in with the cover, and also hints at a key theme of the album. It's also a quo...

Re: Has Von stopped smoking?
I think, respectfully to all involved, what's actually happening is that Ben's Eldritch impersonation has gotten better. Von always seems to run out of breath right at the second Ben steps away from the mic.

Re: Quantum Baby
I think it's about dementia, and a relationship that declines with one/both peoples' memories. I think it switches between the voices of the lovers. There's a lover who can't remember why or how or when they loved "you", and who literally "won't miss" it, because they won't remem...
