I hate the impending tinsel apocalypse.

I have learned that new babies attract loathsome, psychologically-damaged inlaws in the same way that cowpats attract bloated, disease-ridden horseflies.

I got into The Sisters of Mercy music from the back seat of a red Vauxhall Viva in the autumn of 1984. I got into a Sisters of Mercy gig via hurtling down th M1 in the back seat of a tail-gating yellow Mk III Cortina at the end of March 1985. Some short bloke in a cowby hat was standing outside watc...

Thanks, chaps. Very pleasant evening, yesterday. Mrs Batfish celebrated my 40th with 40 presents (I'm not the least bit unhappy that 12 of them were cans of Becks - it's not cheating). :D The best was Cask Strength Laphroaig (voted best Single Malt in the World in 2005 by Whisky magazine). :notworth...

Saw the Bykers a few times they were ok. The Hunters Club were far better, them and The Bomb Party were the best Leicester bands. The Bomb Party were ok... loved "Life's a Bitch!" BUT... THE HUNTERS CLUB!!!! :notworthy: Oh yes. Hated them at first, saw them supporting FOTN; then saw them ...

Re: Watched Wake this morning & wondered...

It was a poor gig, I only went to one other SISTERS gig in 1985 at the Lyceum and that was bloody brilliant, I was at that, and it was. Supported by the Blow Monkeys iirc. I went to the Lyceum, I think The Scientists supported as well. Didn't go to RAH becasue I was revising for my 'A' Levels. Migh...

The thing that made the Gun Club stand out from the pack was JLP's voice. Although the lyrics to For the Love of Ivy , do take something to be desired! If I remember, the early Gun Club m*****n statement was to f*ck with the musical styles they played, and the "hunting for... down in the...

I had to choose the *sigh* option. That isn't to say my job makes me happy, and the organisation I work for will cease to exist in 18 months, but since we discovered that Mrs Batfish is pregnant, any plans to do the rat-like and abandon the sinking ship were sunk (appaling mix of metaphors?).
