Thank you! We're overjoyed. First trimester was a little rough, but everything has settled down and we can feel her bouncing around in there.

Re: Fields of the Nephilim/Nefilim
They're one of my all-time favorite bands, and it sucks to know I'll never get to see them live (my days of flying to Europe for gigs are over and done unless I find a job over there, and those are few and far between).

I love Long Train, honestly. It's long, repetitive, got a groove. Right up my very specific alley.ribbons69 wrote: ↑09 Mar 2025, 00:10I've never liked Long Train.Ocean Moves wrote: ↑08 Mar 2025, 21:14 A re-release of F & L & A on Vinyl, with Long Train added to the end of the track list, and various spelling mistakes

Despite resembling Count Orlock, Von has never waxed romantic about vampires. So… not goth.

The Sisterhood get a mention in a footnote to a recent volume of essays on American sociologist (and Susan Sontag's husband), Philip Rieff: https://www.google.com/books/edition/The_Philosophy_of_Philip_Rieff/JVg9EQAAQBAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&bsq=Sisterhood The full note (in an essay on Nietzsche and...

A month and a half since the election and a few observations: 1) I've never seen this much coverage of the transition period in my life, mostly because a) it's Trump, savior of all ratings, and b) it's more of the same: chaos. Staggeringly unqualified candidates for major cabinet positions, he play...

Another thing I never thought I’d be able to say: we heard our baby’s heartbeat today. I cannot believe it. So yeah - more than slightly happy.

Re: Fields of the Nephilim/Nefilim
Is this actually remastered? Is Penetration incomplete as per the OG CD? I can see the files on a p2p network and they are the same size as the originals. It would be unlikely that the album gets a remaster and is not brickwalled; said process would increase their file size noticeably . So I am inc...

The Zoon remaster sounds fantastic. I've been listening to it on my commute since it came out. Xodus sounds like what I assume a heart attack feels like. It is relentless, and the bass just pounds in my chest at high volume. Glorious.

Mark, my sincerest condolences on your loss. I went through something similar when my mother passed just before the pandemic hit. Take solace in the fact that you were able to care for her. Being able to help support my parents at the end of mothers life meant a lot to me.

@sultan2075 First of all, yes, you are right, there have been conflicts during the Obama years (as well as Obama and Trump drone attacks), but my point is that in terms of the scale of these conflicts, it has been less than before, in comparison to Iraq and Afghanistan. I feel bad for saying this, ...

The popular vote doesn’t matter. “I won the popular vote” is like saying “I won the chess game by taking more pieces off the board.” Well, maybe you did. But that’s not how the game is played, and not how the election is won.

It’s 11:30 pm on the east coast of the United States. At 3:00 tomorrow I’ll be getting married - again. I never thought I would. Unlike the first time, we’re surrounded by friends and family - hers love me, mine love hers. We’re also buying a house and hopefully closing on it in less than two weeks....

Apart from St Augustine. Yes, but The Sisters will definitely be around for the Sick New World Festival in April 2025, so there is a good chance they visit St. Augustine as well ... :) ... With a little luck they'll hit a lot of other places in the States too... make it worth the trip.
