I think NMA could stake a claim to carry that particular torch nowadays. Mind you they also record and release music at regular intervals.

Re: RSD BBC Sessions release

Aren't there only 4000 copies of the RSD vinyl though? And selling (presumably slightly fewer than) that 4000 got it to number 13 in the full albums chart? Geez they're not kidding that the music business is dead. True Mr F. I look at my sons, both of whom attend more gigs than me nowadays, ranging...

Re: RSD BBC Sessions release

These are vinyl sales though aren't they? Nice to see as regards being a fan, but relatively small in the scheme of things. Only a proper new full spectrum release would be a true guide. I still have time and am 'keeping the faith'.

... and the Crash Records people were absolutely lovely, when I visited the shop in 2011 ... :D ... I must say that back in the olden days of cheques and postage stamps staff at both Crash and Jumbo were brilliant at posting out gig tickets when work took me all over Europe. It was done largely 'on...

Re: RSD BBC Sessions release

Yeah, I remember the downstairs room at BAD, with the dodgy C90's lol. There was also Gerol's, in the Merrion near Jumbo, that had vinyl bootlegs occasionally.

Jumbo is now back in the Merrion, at the Phono end.

This'll be the first Sisters release I have bought from Crash, all the old 7" and 12" singles were bought at Jumbo back in the day, must admit to a feeling of disloyalty

Re: RSD BBC Sessions release

I still find it weird that there are 'new' Sisters releases without the band having anything to do with them. Nothing on the website, on twitter etc. It sits badly with me. But hey, at least SOMETHING is happening. Could someone ask Gary, Craig or Wayne for a comment regarding the release and any a...

Re: John Spence - Studio Engineer On The Reptile House E.P.

The above reminds me of early 80's conversations in which "people in the know" told me of hours spent on things that don't matter that much. The then Ms Swinnow, who was a a student nurse and used to inhabit the pool table area of the Fav with her set mates, used to speculate that Von might be on th...
