Facebook groups rumours...
I notice there's a bit of activity on the various FB groups - inc myheartland and the Sisters FB group about Gary, Craig and Wayne getting together for a 'project' next year? Also Ben has removed Sisters Lead guitarist from his profile... Si apparently said somewhere that the Sisters will be active ...

Ever since I found him via The Velvet's as a teenager in the 80's, Lou has been with me, sound-tracking every step of my adult life. To paraphrase his quote about the Velvets albums - his songs are like letters from a friend. They take you on a journey - offering no easy way out - through some of th...

Limiting myself to 5, in no particular order stuggart 84 (first boot on cassette - still have it. Great sound, nice bit of heckling & abuse) NEC 92 (mindblowing gig) Mera Luna 00 (great set list) Paradiso 83 (the temple intro & a fantastic Sister Ray medley) Suikerrock 08 (ditto what radiojamaica sa...

Rain From Heaven
I'm not familar with the play - but came across this randomly today & wondered is there an acknowledge connection/ inspiration? From the Merchant of Venice by Shakey... "The quality of mercy is not strained It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest; It bles...

kiss the carpet (reprise) on the reptile house e.p. is not the same as the SGWBM version: the original (satisfyingly) ends at full volume, whereas the one on SGWBM fades down....is this too picky? :innocent: Well spotted! I always felt the Reptile House EP came across poorly on SGWBM. In fact, the ...

Re: Vinyl cuts not available on CD
Driven Like the Snow (LP) I didn't know the LP and CD versions were different (or possibly I did but have forgotten). How different are they? The LP version lacks the extended 40 second ambient intro that's on the CD. It's not just the intro... the vinyl also doesn't have the 12 second (ahem) 'synt...

I think the point they made about his outburst over the last few years will certainly have alienated some people from going to see him - beyond the hard core fans. If you ask people do they want to go see just about any alternative act from the 80's, you don't end up in a conversation about extremis...

'you're always 10 years too late' too early :innocent: The funniest thing to me about that, was obviously they'd selected the intro of 1959 to be played before 1969. Did he really think that it would be that funny to go through the trouble of getting the DAT or whatever the sample was on? Loved tho...

Yup a fantastic gig. One of my, if not favourite Sisters gigs ever. Great set list & light show. Even now, a recent check on my most played on my ipod, showed the Numb/SKOS intro to be my most listened to Sisters songs... I remember getting there very early due to a late night ferry crossing. So ear...

growing up in Dublin, I was use to seeing records pressed up as made in Ireland & probably have a few in the collection. For some reason, roxy & bryan ferry releases stick in my mind. They did tend to have different labels too. Funnily enough, I never thought of them as collectable - as I'd be getti...

In another but similar vein, I just finished Hooky's 'Unknown Pleasure' book and he mentioned in it how Joy Division & New Order never had to play the game due to being on Factory. He mentions Siouxise, The Furs & The Bunnymen & the way they'd have to do all manner of s**t to sell records on the say...
