JAMES RAYS GANGWAR reunion show

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I'm sure I saw them play at Slimelight in London in 2010 at an aftershow party for the March Violets gig at Islington Academy but then I don't know much about them so it may have just have been James Ray + backing band.

Yes, there was a recording even of the full gig - March Violets, James Ray's Gangwar ... but I've lost it and it's disappeared from the sharing section ...

Yes I was there, fantastic and energetic, cowboys under amphetamines !!

Well I go to a Sisters show at least once a year and I feel energy and presence unfortunately on too rarely occasions :( Besides I am bored with the guitar sounds of the metal teenagers next to him, Mr E. should work with ollder and experienced guitarists who have a real feeling and not only technical skills, well that's only my opinion and I know many people won't agree with me ;)

Here I am speaking of the original line-up with Brainbridge, Smith and Moyle, a bit like if you had the opportunity to have the a Sisters show with Marx, Adams and Hussey, that would sound totally different don't you think so ? ;)

I'm not sure if that Slimes gig was "+ backing band" but it was certainly billed as James Rays Gangwar. Probably the worst gig I've ever seen, loved every second of it.

Thanks doctor, I've never been convinced about Gangwar on record, but that footage has made me rethink. That's the sort of gig I miss!
It goes to show that some bands reveal themselves live.

They are totally different on stage, pure madness and energy on the limited live released:

I concur. So bad I had to leave but I wish I'd stayed...

Saw them at the Joiners Arms in Southampton back in the day and they kicked ass. Would certainly give them a punt again!
