Yeah. You know the guy, never throws anything away, his shed is full of carefully-labeled jars full of screws that came out of something else, he's thinking, "well, you never know when that will come in useful", the guy who saves everything, he has a drawer full of odds and ends (like leather from old handbags that your mum was going to throw out because they'd reached the end of their working life), an attic full of cardboard packing boxes that they used when they moved house 50 years ago but never got tossed because "these are quality boxes, why would we spend money on new ones"?

I've inherited a number of admirable traits from my dad, and a few less great ones, like never throwing anything away. Since I live in under 50 square metres of space (no attic, no basement, no shed) I can't hoard, but when it comes to digital...well, drives are cheap and 2TB takes up no more space than 1TB, right?

In 20 days the UK leaves an institution which for the past 50 years has been the bedrock of regional prosperity and peace, yelling "we're taking back control!" as the lights go out one by one, as the tumbleweeds blow through manufacturing facilities which only set up shop because it was a gateway to Europe, as the increasing price of goods hits the people least able to bear it. This is too depressing for words.

Any EU HLers willing to marry me so that I can belong to a country that isn't run by a cockwomble and his cabal of cronies, to live somewhere other than the "chumocracy" that Boris Johnson and his ilk have reduced the UK to? Seriously, I won't be picky - homely daughters, youngest sons who won't inherit, I'll accept anything on offer.
