Seventeen years

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

While I don't know the exact date, it occurs to me that the last Sisters release, Under The Gun, came out in August 1993, i.e. more than 17 years ago. Inspired by the Duke Nukem Forever list...

Seventeen years is longer than:
  • The whole of The Beatles' recording career. Twice over. (1962-1970)
  • The gap between Return Of The Jedi and The Phantom Menace (1983-1999)
Any more?

My Bloody Valentine are still the ones to beat with this, though.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Didn't it take Ahole Rose 17 years to pull Chinese Democracy out of his rectum?
Cheers.

The Dolls second album came out in 1974, the third not coming out until 2006. I offer this as a glimmer of hope.
Another small comfort. Since Bolan died in 1977 there has been approx 10 CDs released of new material and at least 15 CDs of studio outtakes - all you have to do is live longer than Eldo.

Indeed! many bigger musical 'hatchets' have been buried. People make up and be friends/share battle scars etc. Why baldy is still peddling his shit sans product is beyond ma ken.

I wonder if Kate Bush fans would trade less product for more tours...
And you know that she's half crazy but that's why you want to be there.

 Fair point.

Another one: in the time since the Sisters last released a record, both The X-Files and Friends did their full runs...

That's probably only half as long as the time that the Reptile House has been under construction (http://www.the-reptile-house.com/)
