NEW SONGS!

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Been stuck home, only just noticed the official site updated with lyrics. Band is shut in, I like the theories that a release is more likely than it's ever been in over 25 years!

Sadly, I do think those remaining, postponed dates will all be canceled. And of course, no USA tour for a long time.

Lucky folks who got to see them in Leeds! Great clips and pics. Crazy to think it's been 14 years since I saw them there with fellow HLanders!

Shows what a great song it is, even if The Sisters aren't doing it. Best argument for an album of the new songs yet. They're all magnificent.

Magic! Put those 2020 t-shirts on the website, no one is playing again this year, and let's look forward to a new record and a massive your next year.

(All speculation, I just need something to look forward to)

Must admit, I'd feared the Covid-19 lockdown would derail the band's new-found momentum. Thankfully, doesn't appear to be the case. :) 8)

NEW LYRICS UP!!!!!   :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

SIX WAYS TO SUNDAY (2020)

Nothing much outside
There might be lights
Blues and twos because it's Monday

I have the right to fall down stairs
I have the right to hurt my face
I have the right to know my place

I have the right to be elsewhere
I have the right to be upstate
I have the right to wait
Six ways to Sunday

EYES OF CALIGULA (2020)

no new jerusalem
there is no us; there's only them
this is not my map at all

wrapped in sugar for her pains
no, she says, I'm wearing stains
she do mascara fail
there is a wall and you will wail

remember what you can
rain on the face
where the dogs ran
crippled all in scented lace

there were miners in the dark
there's needles in the park
eyes of caligula look on

we had wool and we had steel
we had liverpool, not ever much your england
now the chrome and we should kneel
in a home where we're not real
eyes of caligula look on

there was a north
there was a north
eyes of caligula look on

Nice  Easily an albums worth of songs here :notworthy: the album is already a masterpiece cos Show Me & Black Sail are on it, just get these bad boys recorded up and there'll be a small section of humans scattered around the planet forever at least a little grateful for the Covid Incident 2020 :von:

Am I imagining it but was the Eyes of Caligula one of the titles from the proposed tracks back in the day? Maybe from Left on m*****n?

16 new tracks. That's nuts.

That's a double album - there were only eight on Vision Thing. They should totally record these. Even if, say, four of them were crap, they could still pick 10 tracks with two singles and two b-sides.

(A guy can dream, can't he?)

At the very least, this gives us some insight into what the girls are doing with their downtime. Presumably Dylan and Von are hard at it, and Ben is contributing remotely. He's mentioned recording recently - I wonder if recording is the best way for them to write - not with a view to publishing an album but just in terms of the best way to write when you're not all in the same room.

Well, at least there is some kind of hope that he has stopped playing with his computer and has come out of his bedroom. Hope he deleted his browser history

I'd like to think those songs for which they've posted the lyrics are the ones they consider finished.
Hopefully that means a chance of haring them live.
