For you to give feedback to the Heartland moderators. Wish lists, fault reports, etc. You may get an answer, you may not. As in all things, it largely depends on how nicely you ask the people in charge... You're welcome.

Heh. Glad you like.

I doubled the amount of space, and the new system gives you lots of extra options.

I have noticed some character encoding issues...

I think that is a bit too short. 12 or better 24h might be a good compromise ... to sleep over our deeds ... and repent ...  ...

agreed. 24 hours seems fair

Done some digging into this and sadly it seems like it's quite a common problem when forums are upgraded from really old versions, and the only way to resolve is to edit each instance as and when you find it.

I've already fixed a couple if usernames that had ö characters in and had become corrupted, but I'll just have to keep an eye out for other instances.

(Afflikönig's username was one such issue, and it was preventing him logging in until I went into the admin area and fixed his username in the system.)

Sorry I don’t quite understand what you mean.
If you click on a link you get to that page and leave HL automatically. The link does no longer open in a new tab... :) ...
sorry, missed your reply :(

ah yes, gotcha!

not opening links in new tabs all over the place is generally regarded as best practice these days

there are numerous usability and accessibility problems with automatically spawning a new browser tab, so the new version of the forum software doesn't do it :)

i'm still looking to into why some posts aren't displaying emoji...

does this summary sound correct so far?

- it's on a seemingly random selection of posts from before the upgrade
- it's not just really old posts
- it's happened quite a lot
- all emoji are working ok on all posts made after the upgrade

i wonder if it's only the emoji we added? eg  :urff: ;D :von: :innocent: :notworthy: :bat:

eg:
Image

everything on the emoji selection panel before the kiss was part of the original forum software. everything from the kiss onwards we have added.

Actually i realise it at work today, few hours ago. Only old posts emojis are not displayed correctly. New posts display emojis normal :bat:
;D :bat:

Also cannot see in here the Sisters section 2020, 2019 18 17 etc Lyrics interviews and so on

Edit* now i can see them, i didn't see them today from office :/

Ah I removed it because just having it on a page sends all kinds of your info to Facebook.

When it was possible, I changed some of my old posts, where the emojis were not displayed.
It was a matter of lacking a blank space between them or the next character.

As to opening links in new tabs ... ok. It's not my decision, and from the
SistersWiki I'm used to it, anyway, how ever inconvenient it might seem... ...
