Show Me

Got any interesting thoughts on a set of lyrics? Any that don't involve the word "indeed"? Find yourself struggling to decipher all those obtuse references Von makes? Read "1959 And All That" and still no clearer? Nope, us neither. Postcards found lying in a skip around the back of the Chemists can be found here... Don't say you weren't warned.

And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Had a chat with Ravey Davey on Saturday after the Roundhouse gig, he confirmed it's Barbie rock'n'roll.

That makes sense since Barbie is also a doll

Basically, victims of abuse, usually young children who can't talk about it, are given a doll and asked to 'show me on the doll where you were touched'
Jeeeezuz, wish I'd never asked. Thank you for explaining Charlie, but tbh I'm sorry for asking now. If that's the lyric, then it may well be the archest lyric he's written / sung to date, especially when there's a concert hall full of folk singing along. Wow.
While Charlie is completely correct about the origin of the phrase, just to clarify Planet Dave's interpretation: the term is often used on social media with a more sarcastic/condescending intent (a meme originating from South Park).

For example, you could respond to a new thread complaining about the lack of a new Sisters album as follows:

So, without trying to start interpreting the lyrics before we know them all (although that's never stopped us before), the chances of it being a direct reference to child abuse investigations are low.

I had to check on that. They were all cropped into a square image on a black sleeve, but only Walk Away had a defined border.
UUTG sort of had I suppose
Cheers.

Yes of course, i'm aware of the meme side too, and Andrew's lyrics are always multi-layered and humerous, so it's not an explanation, just wanted to fill in the origin!

I hear it as "love like love, but simulated" each time so far.

Which could sort of make sense if the theme, with the dolls, TV and the rest, has to do with some kind of disconnect from the real thing.

Show me on the doll, Oslo 28.09 video taken by Ingo

I believe someone can bring up the whole song after that and the previous vids :D :notworthy:
