Hey, E.T is on the phone

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

According to the magazine New Scientist a telescope in Puerto Rico has picked up a so far unexplainable radio signal from some star or other, at three separate occasions.

I wonder if Jodie Foster is informed. Could be time to make that jump into hyper space.

Funnily enough, I run the SETI@home screensaver, which is the distributed-processing whojamitz that actually discovered the signal (if it really is a signal) in the billions of Terabytes that the Arecibo Observatory generates.

It wasn't my SETI@home client that found the signal though.
