I stood for over six hours in the stadium in the sun, squeezing and worming my way right to the front , with absolutely no room (and i mean NO ROOM) to even turn around and was right in front of Bono the whole way through. It was the best night of my little life.

First gig: Rollercoaster at Whitley Bay ice-rink, in about 1992. Featured Dinosaur Jnr, My Bloody Valentine, Jesus and Mary Chain and a very out-of-place Blur. Blur sucked, the others were pretty cool.
Last gig: Nightwish, London Astoria, July 2004.
Worst gig: Lou Reed, Shepherd's Bush Empire. Give us a smile you miserable old git! Honorable mention to Dido as well. Decent performance, just very very bland.
Best gig: Nick Cave, Brixton Academy, No More Shall We Part tour.
Most over-hyped: Brian Wilson and Pet Sounds at the RFH. His recovery from his collapse is impressive, but it doesn't make him god almighty, ffs!
And how could anyone not enjoy a Belinda Carlisle show?

I'll let you know on all of the above...
on the grounds of alcoholic excess all I can reveal at the moment is that my first gig was Toyah (unless you really wanted to know that I saw Bert Grange's Big Band live at Walton Gardens in 1973- you mean that was the one date on the tour you couldn't make?), at which point you'll realise that I've said too much....but, of course, as that familiar face on breakfast tv this morning might have said if someone had told him to, "I'll be back."

First gig - Siouxsie & The Banshees - Bradford 8.10.85
Last gig - Bonsai Kittens/David Wrench/Yumi Yumi - Leeds Royal Park 23.4.04
Worst gig - Erm, I can't really think of one. I'll have to say Dust Devils (I've no clue who they are) but they were supporting Ghostdance at Leeds Poly in 1987. The sound was just terrible, you couldn't hear the vocals at all and the rest sounded like cack. A few of us shouted abuse between each song for which I am ashamed. In hindsight I'd have gone to the sounddesk and told them it sounded shite and to do something about it. Thankfully the sound was ok for Ghostdance.
Best gig - Erm the best one is usually whatever I've been to most recently, erm, how about Lunachicks - Leeds Duchess of York 1992.
Loudest - Siouxsie 1985 again. I was right up agaisnt the speakers and my ears rung for about 3 days afterwards.
Gig I'm not embarrassed to mention - Bananarama - Sheffield 1989.
Band I've seen the most times - The Mission - 24 times (2nd place - Gentle Ihor's Devotion - 23 times)
Last gig - Bonsai Kittens/David Wrench/Yumi Yumi - Leeds Royal Park 23.4.04
