It's supposed to be 21/6/83 Brixton Ace, for which the track list here has:
Kiss, Alice, Anaconda, Valentine, Burn, Jolene, Heartland, Adrenochrome, Floorshow, Gimme Shelter, Emma, Body Electric
HOWEVER, the version I have aquired is:
Heartland, Adrenochrome, Floorshow, Gimme Shelter, Emma, Body Electric, Kiss, Alice, Anaconda, Valentine, Burn, Jolene
With a cut between Body Electric and Kiss. Someone appears to have possibly transcribed the sides of a vinyl or taped boot the wrong way round?
Identifier: Before Emma, Von says "Time for a tear-jerker", then a shout from the audience, "Body Electric", then Von: "Body Electric is not a tear-jerker. Emma is a tear-jerker. Patience..."
Help identifying a boot?
Sounds like it - I checked Hal's site and he has it starting with Kiss.
This is what he has:

Oh no worries Karst, I can fix it myself; I was just a little perplexed by the "unconventional" track-order.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I've seen the gig on an LP with the sides labelled wrongly. Your recording is probably from that. Also the site you linked to is wrong, the gig is 29.6.83 not 21.6.83. I think there was a gig at Brixton Ace on 21.6.83 but as far as I know it doesn't exist.

That's the same gig as on the crotch-shots VCD no? Track list for that:Dan wrote:Also the site you linked to is wrong, the gig is 29.6.83 not 21.6.83
Kiss The Carpet, Alice, Anaconda, Valentine, Jolene, Heartland, Adrenochrome, Gimme Shelter, Emma.
That makes sense I suppose; the same tracks in the same order on the VCD with Burn, Floorshow and Body Electric missing. Presumably missing for camera reasons (changing tapes/batteries?)
Thanks.

Excellent.

Possibly. I've seen at least 3 other videos shot by the same person (an Italian girl apparently) and the Sisters came off the best by far, with some other bands only getting 4 songs recorded.markfiend wrote:...with Burn, Floorshow and Body Electric missing. Fairy nuff. What I always wonder is how the hell do you get a video camera into a gig? OK, with a digicam now they're about the size of a cigarette packet, but back in 83, the "state of the art" was probably one of those things you have to carry on your shoulder that's about 3 feet long! It was probably taped on beta too...

I think she had permission from the bands. You'll see from the video the camera seems to be right at the edge of the stage (or on the stage?). Apart from gigs in pubs (where they don't seem to mind you filming) the only thing I've filmed where there was a chance of me getting caught was *********** at Leeds Poly in 1992. The camcorder isn't that small. I was on the side balcony crouching down, a row of people were standing behind me and nobody would have seem me if they walked along the balcony. Trouble is the sound desk was just across to my left and they'd have had a clear view of me, but then out of nowhere some tall b@stard with a big hat stood and blocked their view and I was able fo film the whole gig.markfiend wrote:Fairy nuff. EDIT: Name of band removed to stop the pm's I'd inevitably get.

That's a good point. She must have had permission if she's onstage!Dan wrote:I think she had permission from the bands. You'll see from the video the camera seems to be right at the edge of the stage (or on the stage?).
You'll still get hundreds asking what band it was!Dan wrote:EDIT: Name of band removed to stop the pm's I'd inevitably get.
