Bei mir bist du schoen

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Is a cover of a song by the Andrews Sisters. The title means something like "To me you are beautiful".

Lyrics (courtesy of some other site - can't guarantee they're correct):

Of all the boys I've known and I've known some
Till I first met you I was lonesome
But when you came in sight
Dear my heart grew light
And this old world seemed new to me
Seemed new to me
Seemed new to me
So I will try to explain all the things you do to me

Bei mir bist du schoen
Let me explain
Bei mir bist du schoen means your grand
Bei mir bist du schoen
Please let me explain
It means you're the fairest in the land

I could say bella, bella
Or I could say wunderbar
Each language only helps me tell you how grand you are

Bei mir bist du schoen
Let me explain
Kiss me
And understand

...Bei mir bist du schoen means you're grand...

...It means you're the fairest in the land...

I could say wunderbar
Each language only helps me tell you how grand you are

Bei mir bist du schoen
Let me explain
Kiss me,
And understand

I could say bella, bella
Or I could say wunderbar
Each language only helps me tell you how grand you are
Bei mir bist du schoen
Let me explain
Kiss me,
And understand

Which bootleg can I can get this song on? :innocent:
You still think swastikas look cool
The real nazis run your schools
They're coaches, businessmen and cops
In a real fourth reich you'll be the first to go

Oops

Anyhoo, the weeds containing this song seem to be:

Here, Here, Here, Here, and Here

I have been reliably informed by some know-it-all on another forum that The Beatles used to cover it too, probably in their Hamburg days
"And when you start to think about death, you start to think about what's after it. And then you start hoping there is a God. For me, it's a frightening thought to go nowhere".
