Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.
I'd never heard of emily strange before she signed up to this forum, but from the lego thingy I get the impression she's also a cartoon character or something???
EDIT: Googling doesnt help. I get the impression it's just an image used for marketing and it's not "from" anything???

Yeah, emily strange (not ours....) appeers on a selection of low-qualityhigh-priced cr@p for the "younger goths" (see BBC norfolk thread ) http://www.emilystrange.com/ is the website. according to the "who" section of the site:
Emily the Strange is...
Emily Strange 13 years old and one bad kitty
Emily Strange Long black hair with bangs
Emily Strange Big white Mary Jane shoes
Emily Strange Short black dress
Emily Strange Black stockings
Emily Strange Ever-present four black cats.
Emily Strange She is anti-cool, a subculture of one,
and a follower of no one but herself.
She is the anti-hero for the Do It Yourself movement!
Emily Strange Her favorite phrase is "Get Lost!", which is both an invitation to travel to unknown places and an instruction to 'take a hike!'

right.
I have a couple Goth friends and to be honest, sometimes I must do my best not to make fun of them
but it is so stupid to call someone something, whats the difference between those silly Goth teens and most of heartlanders a few decades ago
