favourite tour ever

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Goodness. Even I have seen them four times, and I never go out and have no friends. Mind you, even to get to four it's taken me eleven years, given the infrequency of UK concerts. So I sympathise with those of you who live even further off the beaten track.

...Possibly so, but not when I've been here. NEC '92, Exxile on Euphoria (Leeds University) and Smoke and Mirrors (second Leeds date, you know - when you could actually see something).

And do both the Fenton and Joseph's Well gigs count..? :innocent:

Where's the Summer "tours"?

My vote goes for Stavenhagen 1998, my first gig.. and the best of the 11 I've seen.

M'era Luna 2002 is another favorite! Hearing Never Land live for the first time was stunning...

the only thing I remember from the Ternat show was the f**king hip hop band that played before them and the WoW that I got when the show was over.
what would I give now to get a chance to see them as they have been in their first years..........

I've not seen them at all, having only heard my first song about a year ago. Here's to hoping some gigs appear next year.

No offence intended or anything Dark, but I was wondering how come you got into the Sisters? I mean, you were like two or something last time they brought a record out. :?:

Can't really vote on this one. Once a Black October boy, always a Black October boy. :von:

I have seen them a few times (last time @ Forum 03 - my birthday present), but my fav ever gig was in Glauchau (1997) - I saw them there for the first time and was totally mesmerized... Hopefully, the rumoured tour in the Spring will happen.

Yup. Like what _emma_ said.

While we're waiting for the next one to arrive...

Interesting for such an allegedly pessimistic band, that us followers are so optimistic!

Perverse? never!

Natural Sisters fan optimism. Or maybe a summer tour? Or autumn? Or winter? Or an album? Or nothing as usual. :|

I guess it's the no new album 25-year anniversary tour in Feb 2006 playing to ever dwindling audiences that's next.

But us sad muppets will be there. 8)
