Which gigs did you see back then, JB ?
On that particular tour they very kindly did a nice little 50 mile circle around Peterborough with Nottingham, Leicester, Norwich and Colchester on consecutive nights. Which was nice.

Last time I saw them was at the NEC in 93... my very sad confessions are that I missed the last two times they played the UK as the first time (2001) I was incarcerated for my part in Mayday 2000.. and then I missed them last time at the Forum because I refused to take an upstairs ticket!

Deinze was horrible because of the crowd, never seen such a motionless apathic nitwits...the sound quality was quite bad too...

what I liked in Ternat was that the gig was probably the most agressive ever(in an enthusiastic way, I mean, n fighting but really electrified), I had to protect my gf for a while, until the security took her away because the people were pushing too hard and she was in the front row...
even she keeps saying it was a memorable gig

Ternat (the infamous 'garden centre' gig) was a total let-down for me after the brilliance of the festivals shows in Bonn, Arvika and Hasselt earlier that year. The band definitely weren't on best form and they left out Ribbons!
Best thing about that gig was the strange raspberry-flavoured Belgian beer they were selling there.

well, I didn't say the sisters themselves were brilliant on that gig, I said the gig was fab, that's not the same

I was the very skinny, small boy. quite nerveus but entousiast. for it was one of my first real concerts.
The only women I remember is the singer from lords of acid . she was standing right infront of me....

we left right after The Sisters. my friend (the guy who introduced me to The Sisters ) was a total freak, he didn't care for the other bands. So we Did NOT see any of the other bands...
next time they play we meet up okay
It's all in the eye of the beholder. I've seen so many people describing a gig as disappointing whereas others said the very same gig was brilliant. And I mean people who have attended many gigs and so have a big range to refer to. Me, I'm only disappointed if I don't manage to make it to the front row. Once I'm there and the band get on stage, there is nothing that could dissapoint me.
Bitching aside, I thought Smoke and Mirrors (the shows I saw) was pretty damned good, especially against a lot of concerts. They just put on a good, fun rock show.
It's been two years since those dates were announced...even my 'new'er bootlegs are getting old as we sit here, wondering if the man will just friggin' retire for real and stop playing games...
Face it, Von. You're not getting $3,000,000 from a major. Finish the songs you started in 1997 or whenever and sell the CD-Rs at your concerts for 10 pounds a pop, enough people will buy them. Or record yours show and sell them after.
Um, that would be the one when I was 16 - Trippy Licht Fantastich I think (it was Sept 2nd 2000, someone'll know)- I had the tickets, I had the outfit, I had joy in my heart...
Woke up the morning of the concert, I had full-blown flu.
The most ill I've ever been in my life, on that day of all days. I struggled out of my bed, dutifully applied some lippy and crimped my hair a bit, before literally collapsing on the floor. My mum heard the thud and ran up to inform me that I was not going. I must have looked a picture. I went back to my bed and cried!
My friend who I was going with gave my ticket to the Romanian exchange student who was staying with her. I've not had a chance to see since.

Mind you i havent seen em since , the only problem is i dont think i want to either ( unless they do it right...ie "get the band back together , were on a m*****n from god" Hang on thats the Blues Brothers.Well same thing applies , and play the fuckin songs the right way as well)
