Hangover albums...

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Inspired by the monster hangover that accompanied me on my train journey back from Edinburgh yesterday :urff: I got to thinking what are the best albums to listen to with a thumping heidache?

I'll start off with Zero 7 - Simple Things - sheer aural bliss...it did the trick for me anyway. There were even a couple of screaming brats on the train, didn't bother me one bit thanks to THESE <clicky>

Any others?

The last album I found helped with a thumping headache was Faith & The Muse "Elyria"...

You didn't click on the CLICKY, did you? They cost a bit more than £40 but were worth every penny.

Conversely, My Bloody Valentine's stuff is a definite no-no for recovering to.

Isn't Anything or Loveless + Hangover = Rapid Vomit Action.

Luvvly...

Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music is the SOUND of a hangover. Also best-avoided. ;D

I usually listen to Rado 4 (the service, not the band)

To be honest, I think Mr Blast has (quietly) hit the nail on the head...Radio 4 (as he sez, not the bleedin' NY Public Image Limited/Clash wannabes) is the best way to recover possible - calming but entertaining without hectoring...that's what yer need... :notworthy:  :von:

And PiB's got a point too...as a recent convert to messrs simon and garfunkel, there's something about their stuff which is like a salve to the furrowed and hungover brow!

Frankie Teardrop...eeeekkkkkkk...let's not go there. ouch! :urff:

quite possibly. don't know what it was about them, but it was just right. haven't done it for many years though, so maybe it was just one of those things i grew out of.
