I grew one this year that was at least six inches wide at the top and nearly two foot long.
It tasted nice

Parsnips.
Parsnips schmarsnips. I always used to fall for that "roasted parsnips that look like chips" trick at school. Brussel sprouts are the one true vegetable.
And you know that she's half crazy but that's why you want to be there.

I have a couple of friends coming over for xmas day, so roast parsnips are definitely on the menu, along with roast potatoes, boiled potatoes, peas, carrots, (no sprouts, since they're the work of the devil) and cheatin' roast turkey

I had the misfortune to have nut roast once when I spent Christmas with 3 friends whom I didn't realise were all vegetarian. It looked like a giant turd on a plate and tasted dreadful, so I ended up scavenging turkey from the neighbours. I don't normally like turkey but at least it took away the taste of nut roast, which shall never pass my lips again.smiscandlon wrote:I had that last year and rather enjoyed it! Which is where you've really got to watch the alcohol. Or you'll get caught out by those parsnips doing roast potato impressions. The number of times...lazarus corporation wrote:roast parsnips are definitely on the menu, along with roast potatoes
