It's taken me all year...
I'm trying very hard to remember that experience ...Gary wrote:Must be nice, to be able to actually purchase a sisters prduct.. that is new to you.

I know. It feels amazing to listen to Torch and Driven Like The Snow, and NOT know the lyrics off by heart, or contend with crowd noise if it's a live bootleg.Gary wrote:Must be nice, to be able to actually purchase a sisters prduct.. that is new to you.
And I still have to buy Vision Thing.
But then.. then will come the purchase of singles.

I had 1959, Flood II and Colours (Sisterhood and Sisters versions) as mp3, and heard all the Overbombing ones, so I promised myself I wouldn't download Flood I, Driven Like The Snow, Never Land or Torch.christophe wrote:I only bought a single including that one a few weeks ago, I had it for years on CD but only now it appealed to me.Dark wrote: It feels amazing to listen to Torch.

I can safely say it was well worth the wait.
Oh... and speaking of Flood... I found some remixing software, and sort of... umm... remixed Flood II. Bad things happen when Dark gets bored.
I don't think I did that bad a job, but hey. Flood IV.

I wouldn't mind give it a listen, could you upload it somewhere?Dark wrote:I had 1959, Flood II and Colours (Sisterhood and Sisters versions) as mp3, and heard all the Overbombing ones, so I promised myself I wouldn't download Flood I, Driven Like The Snow, Never Land or Torch.

Sure. I'll upload it when I'm done. It'll probably have to be about 32kbps bitrate, for size and bandwidth purposes, but hopefully it will be an interesting partner to Izzy's Burn.christophe wrote:I wouldn't mind give it a listen, could you upload it somewhere?Dark wrote:I had 1959, Flood II and Colours (Sisterhood and Sisters versions) as mp3, and heard all the Overbombing ones, so I promised myself I wouldn't download Flood I, Driven Like The Snow, Never Land or Torch.

Very well. I stayed faithful to the original, with extra echoes, speed, more bass in areas, even some of the song played backwards. The mixing isn't very good though, but I only worked on it for an hour using freeware. You get what you pay for.
Here's what we got so far:

Dark apologises for the swirly effect that makes some of it sound like a drunk Hawkwind, shifting from one speaker to the other. He is making no money from this, and as such is not doing anything that means he can be sued. He is doing this for fun, and to prove to the fine people of Heartland that there IS a way of making something worse than SSV. Viva Highschool.

it goes a bit "boomy" at 2:10, 3:36 & 4:33 - i'd look at the eq on those bits - but otherwise i like it.Dark wrote:Rushing part.. which part exactly would that be?James Blast wrote:that was very good till the 'rushing' bit, then it was just good, nice treatment on Mr. E's vox Dark

nice use of overlayed multiple audio tracks, panning, chorus & reversed audio to change the structure and the groove. cool

Yeah. I turned the bass up a lot when he said "Flood!" and that drum part at 4:33, trying to make it sound like a heartbeat.Quiff Boy wrote:it goes a bit "boomy" at 2:10, 3:36 & 4:33 - i'd look at the eq on those bits - but otherwise i like it.Dark wrote:Rushing part.. which part exactly would that be?James Blast wrote:that was very good till the 'rushing' bit, then it was just good, nice treatment on Mr. E's vox Dark

Actually, all the panning, and such, it all happened from luck. I just altered the time of echo, and it so happened that Von paused then, and the echo happened. And I increased the tempo, etc, just to see what it'd be like. Not sure I did what you thought, QB, but I'm sure had I done that it'd sound similar.
Personally, my favourite part's the backwards part. It should have mixed better than it did, but it sounds quite good played backwards.
