Sisterhood 7"

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

After nearly 20 years of buying/listening to the Sisters I finally (today) got hold of a copy of the Sisterhood 7" (had the album decades ago). And I never realised how different the versions of Giving Ground were from the album version - I was shocked and elated.

how sad is that.

I got my copy for £3 on Ebay last week (£3 was the "Buy it now" price - seemed like a good idea to do just that!). Looks fairly genuine, but the cover does have a distinct lack of identifying features.

If anyone can give me a clue how to check if it's the real thing then I'd be grateful.

Dunno if it ever was bootlegged.

I got mine when I swapped it for a Nosferatu CD, one of my best trades ever :)

I'm still praying The Sisterhood release something else. ;)

Yes, I'm sad, but it'd be better if they got together and banged out some quick single, even without Von writing the song, that'd be better than waiting in vain for a new Sisters release. We're never getting a Greatest Hits: Volume Two.

Whatever it is that you're doing wrong, so am I.

I got the 7" for about £4 off ebay about 6 months ago. I can't be bothered mp3-ing the tracks myself though

It looks as though you have just the two songs from the 7". You are almost finished, though. You need to join the first two with hjsplit to get it as a single .mp3 file. The same for the last two files as well. Have you tried to play the second file, for example?
