Birthday Weekender - requests for the DJs

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I think the words "trust" and "djs" make uncomfortable bedfellows. :P

Does this mean I can't play Fear Cult's version of Boys And Girls!?!

...but seriously now (unlikely!) prehaps some sort of "request" thread should be set up so people can suggest stuff they want to hear (for both friday and saturday nights)...

although obviously I don't want people thinking that being "request friendly" means I'm too lazy to write my own playlist, oh no...

Mister Quiff

Play 'If You Haven't Been Shot, You Should Be' By Twatbus at about 10:25

We should be playing it in Bradford at about that time.

Er.... I usually prefer to have djs surprise me... 8)

Besides: The one time I've been to the PHONO (ages ago = about 2 years?) the music was EXCELLENT (anything a poor Zurich ex-goth could only dream of) => other main reason for me to trust you guys (first one is you're into the Sisters (wrong reason to trust anybody, I know...))... :P

BUT if anybody of you plays Alien Sex Fiend's "I Walk The Line" and The Cramps' "Human Fly" (besides LOADS of Sisters stuff of course) I'll build you a Cathedral with spires, stained windows, several altars and all the other nice features. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

go knock yourselves out... just don't expect us to actually remember or pay attention ;)

 I would imagine most people around here would find that a very disturbing thought...

As for the tracks, "I Walk The Line" and "Human Fly" are almost guaranteed to be played on the friday (not that Friday Flock is predictable, oh no)....

Any one of the following would bring back fond memories of sticky floors and mirrored pillars on the Friday:

Iggy Pop – The Passenger
B52s – Rock Lobster
Bauhaus – Kick In The Eye
Billy Idol – White Wedding
Pete Shelley – Homosapien
Joy Division – Novelty
Cabaret Voltaire – Just Fascination
Simple Minds – Changeling
Human League – Empire State Human
Theatre Of Hate – Original Sin
Spear Of Destiny – Liberator
Siouxsie And The Banshees – Happy House

I'm sure I've said this before.
And you know that she's half crazy but that's why you want to be there.

  • Broke My Neck (long version) - Echo And The Bunnymen
    Witness - Play Dead
Release The Bats - The Birthday Party
Sleeping Gas - The Teardrop Explodes
    Into The Valley - SKIDS
The Green Man - Type O Negative
at least I tried ;D

Was that ("This Please") Pretty Vacant? - Excellent choice! :)

Red Right Hand - Nick Cave
would be another one.

And if we're on Vergin Prunes: What about "King Of Junk"?... Just a joke, don't worry peeps...:)

Rain - The Cult
some Lydia Lunch? (By the way: does anybody know how and where I still could get her album "1313"?)

As for surprises: It depends on the definition... If you understand "surprise" as making a party for Sisters fans and not playing even one Sisters song, then it's a BAD surprise, deserves punishment and is not at all what I'm looking for. BUT if "surprise" means "I'll rather not wish for too much, cause if you play all my wishes I might miss songs I've forgotten right now", then surprises are good.

it's up to you, guys....
