Woot! Got bittorrent working, and managed to get it through work's firewall. Just one question; I've downloaded a couple of things already; how long after you've downloaded something should you leave it "up" on the BT client to carry on seeding it?
The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.

That's really up to you. If you're downloading off somewhere like Easytree then leave it open as long as you can as they monitor the download vs Upload amounts. If it goes too low then you won't be able to download any more.markfiend wrote:Woot! Got bittorrent working, and managed to get it through work's firewall. For other stuff I usually leave it open only as long as I'm downloading for unless there are only a handful of Seeds and a lot of people downloading. It really depends. I use my PC for online gaming and leaving BT or Soulseek running while gaming causes a lot of lag problems.
